I think I want a divorce...after 19 years

I really can't stand to be in the same room with hubby
he grates on my ever last nerve
he is gruff, harsh with our 16 year old
he drinks WAY too much
he is racist, homophobic and mean
he uses the N word the F word the G word the Q word and always hateful
he makes sex such a big deal that I could care less if I ever have it ever again
and he pouts like a baby if I say no because it is 1 AM and I have to get up at 5:30 AM to deal with 170 8th graders all day...
He has never physically hurt me...it would be easy then to leave
but I think emotional abuse sometimes is worse???

That's not what I got out of it. Her husband sounds like a new-classic liberal. Every qualification is mentioned.
Hubby is probably more hate-filled than greenbitch. She can't handle the competition.

Whats the Q word? Queer? Didn't realize that was a "bad word". I mean wasn't there a pretty big tv show called "Queer Eye for the Stright Guy"?

DUmmy or not if her husband is abusive then that is a sad thing.
If his using certain words is really an issue then I would think in a healthy relationship a simple please don`t would fix it (full disclosure...single here so maybe talking out my backside).
My guess is that he is equally sick of hearing her whine on and on every day about how mistreated she is by the government (she is a public employee so that is a bit silly) and everyone else that lives.
She has clearly demonstrated in the past that intelligence and judgement are not her strong suits and I wonder how much of the debt she cries about is her own.

Jesus, there are worse things to be then the object of your husband's affections still. People take so much for granted, they really do. One of them is that their so will always be beating down the bedroom door to be with them.
Stop thinking about it as a chore and enjoy it and maybe the attitude will change some.

he is racist, homophobic and mean and uses the A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z words which has me banging my head against the wall and pulling my hair out.
Fortunately as a teacher, I can shield my 170 eighth grade students from those hateful words.

I thought maybe Quetzalcoatl. Such a hard word to spell, it scares me to think about. Maybe he keeps going on and on about the end of the world in 2012 and the return of Quetzalcoatl.
I remember a children's book called Something Queer is Going On and I think it was about some mystery like Encyclopedia Brown or something, so I am sure it's not that.

Eureka! I think I have sussed out what the dreaded "Q" word is: "Quiet!"
DUmmies hate to be told to be quiet because first of all, many times they don't even realize they are talking out loud, they think they are thinking it in their heads. Terribly embarrassing.
Secondly, they think they are so full of right knowledge that they have the right to never shut up.
If "Get over yourself" was a word, that would be the G word.
