So Scott Brownstain campaigned in an old pickup truck, but owns 5 houses and 12 cars?
Edited on Thu Jan-21-10 08:43 AM by DainBramaged
Were the people of Massachusetts that gullible? Did we as Democrats really do that bad of a job campaigning that an empty suit like this (who pimped his own kids out during his acceptance speech) actually beat A Democrat for a seat held BY a Democrat since 1972?
What the hell is wrong with us?

........ actually beat A Democrat for a seat held BY a Democrat since 1972?
Actually, it was held by a Dem since 1953. We know, you're dainbramaged.
.

I'll take that OLD p/u...even with 200k miles. Bet it's even paid for :naughty:

Had there been a "D" after his name, you probably would have saluted that fact. DainBramaged indeed. :loser:
-

I noticed that right off, too.
This was John Kennedy's seat.
Before that, it belonged to Henry Cabot Lodge, and it's good to see Henry's seat back in the proper hands.
-
Was Ted Kennedy poor?? Is John Kerry poor?? When did Democrats start hating on rich politicians? lol.
-
"Scott Brownstain"
So mein DUmmies, you are saying he iss vun uff deh Jooooos, ja?
:rotf:

So is there truth to this or no?

So is there truth to this or no?
Why would it matter?

He owns rental properties, but he also owes on them all it seems.

He is finally admitting the truth about O?

Sorry DUchebag. Like the racist meme, the class envy meme has faded to mean nothing.

So is there truth to this or no?
According to PuffHost:
70 Hayden Woods, Wrentham, MA: A 3,000 squared-foot single-family house that is the current principal residence of Brown and his family. The house lies off a cul-de-sac in a recently developed neighborhood near a small lake is nearby. According to financial disclosures, it is valued at $100,000 or more.
1840 Commonwealth Avenue #11-14, Brighton, MA 02135. In October 2007 Brown and wife Gail purchased what property records indicate is two condominium units at 1840 Commonwealth Avenue in the Brighton neighborhood of the city of Boston. The assessed value for #11 is $60,000 to $100,000; for #14 it is $100,000 or more
1870 Commonwealth Avenue #8, Brighton, MA. Brown's 2008 SFI reports ownership of this unit, with a net income derived from it of $1,001 to $5,000. The property itself is valued at $100,00 or more
33 Ocean View Ave. Rye, NH. This property is listed as Brown's second home with an asset value greater than $100,000.
He has his primary residence, a second home, two condo investment/rental properties, and a rental home. Big deal. :whatever:
Oh, no mention at all in the PuffHost about him having 12 cars. Even googled it up and there's nothing on it.
.

I know the area, and saw the house on Google Maps. Nice, but nothing huge--certainly no Kennedy compound.
And it's 33 Oceanview Ave, otherwise you'll get nada.

Funny, I don't recall Senator Elect Brown claiming to be some po-boy who "ain't no ways tired". Oh yeah, he's not a rich ass democrat! :thatsright:
Private property ownership, the American dream, is a pretty good deal. You should try it sometime, DUmbass. If you can grow up and get a job, that is.

Not anymore.
Did we as Democrats really do that bad of a job campaigning that an empty suit like this (who pimped his own kids out during his acceptance speech) actually beat A Democrat for a seat held BY a Democrat since 1972?
Nah, the voters knew what you were pushing and wanted no part of it. You should be proud, it was the economy, stupid, that motivated them.
What the hell is wrong with us?
So many things, and so little time.....

Good for Scott Brown! Why would ANYONE have a problem with that?

Am I reading that right? Really nice houses are only $100,000 in Massachusetts? I might have to start trying to get transferred to our Boston office.
You could maybe buy one house out here for the price of all of his houses. Dang.

He did say that he grew up in a family that was on welfare at one time. It looks like he shown what hard work and perseverance can do. Those are two things that DUmmies want no part of. It's fine to marry into wealth ala Kerry or inherit it if you are a Kennedy.

Oh, I know. I was just mocking the ultra wealthy "People of and for the People" that these clowns seem to love so much. :-)

He reports his rental income unlike crooks like Conyers and tax cheats like Geithner.

16. Then, "we" need to barrage the media the next time "we" run against a Puke
so that they are forced to cover the story. Even if you need to stand near him or her with a sigh questioning their wealth, it needs to be done to make it into a story.
Well, if you mutter and sigh, nobody is going to pay attention. If you meant "sign," then you will look extremely foolish and hypocritical. Please do it.

If I read what he filled out correctly....the second home is a time-share. Just about anybody with a decent credit rating and a couple of thousand dollars can buy into a time-share. :whatever: (my daughter and her husband stayed in one on their honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas - and the twits bought into one for $1500 :banghead: they couldn't understand why all the parents thought it was dumb ::) )
Lots of people - both conservatives and liberals - started buying rental properties in the last 10 years....safer investment than the stock market. They wanted something tangible that they could reach out and touch.. and most importantly.... retain/grow in value and generate income, rather than a piece of paper that may be worth a lot of money one day and nothing the next.

Kind of like what happened with the housing bubble?
:bolt: Just kidding since you are a realtor. :-)
-

Most investors, who are buying rental properties, are not buying expensive properties. There has to be a margin of profit, and if the property has a mortgage, the profit margin is greatly narrowed.
While affected by the housing bubble somewhat....it has been minimal, simply because the lower end properties have not lost as much money and the rent amount has not decreased...so it's still an income producing property.
I have worked with investors for years....it's a much different market than primary residence purchasing. In many ways...it's much harder. Harder to find the investors specific profit margin. On the other hand...there's little to no emotion in the purchase.

Hasn't the housing bust been a boon to rental property owners?

You got that right! I'm an investor. I hate to tell this but .... I bought a house for $9,000.00 and put $6,000.00 in repairs into it. I rent it for $450.00/month and it has never been empty longer than a month. That is least expensive I have picked up a home. I have several I bought as really good deals then I have 2 I bought that are renting at a rate to "Just break even". I bought those 2 homes because they were in good shape in a good area and I could buy them right. I'll hold them at no cost to me for probably 5 - 10 years then I'll sell them for what the market is right then and make my money.

Don't even bother. It's "over $100K", which is the only requirement unless the value is over $1M.
I'd venture to guess the house in Rye would go for at least a half-million. Ones on the ocean can go for upwards of $3-5M.
Hell, new construction right behind me is still going for around $300K.
ETA: The one in Rye isn't a timeshare.

I am having a hard time coming up with a poor Democrat member of Congress from MA --- I got nothing. They don't exist.

But what she use to say about Ole Joe Kennedy and Uncle Joe Stalin should not be repeated in mixed company. :o

He is running for something else this year.
Lt Gov or Attorney General or Highway Sweeper or something

:greet: Dude. I hear ya. Did you hear the debate with Medina last week? I think I heard she got enough backing to go up on the next one too. KBH? No way. No friggin way.
I was really dissapointed that Kinky decided to run as a Democrat, and then to drop out. I was kinda hoping maybe he would confab with the Nuge, and get his act together. If he had dropped his schtick, and some of his crazy ideas, I think he could have had a decent chance.

I like Medina a lot but she REALLY needs to get off the idea of taxing home sales. That is going to kill her.

According to the DUmp, with all those houses, Texacon is ineligible to run for public office. Bobbolink would be perfectly fine.

His comments on healthcare is let the states figure it out -- sure they can work with the federal government, but the states should do it. He also is very strongly stated he is there to represent MA and the best interest of MA residents.

Ted Kennedy amassed his personal fortune by selling small children into slavery and from personally pulling the gold teeth out of welfare recipients mouths.
Ted Kennedy is the source of syphilis in America.
Ted Kennedy's only redeeming feature was the fact that he spat in every mirror he ever saw.
Kinda like the sh!t wits at the DU.
