****ing with (not actually with) conservatives

Had a chat today with some of my fellow old fart buddies, some of whom are conservatives but they do buy a round. Some were so happy about the Massachusetts election, I heard a lot of **** this national health care bullshit. I said I had great insurance, better then any of them had. They inquired. I said I was a military retiree, (which they knew) and I had outstanding communistic socialistic health care, which I do. No doubt, veterans will post that they have had horror stories with government health care but for almost 40 years my wife and I have had great and inexpensive health care from our socialistic policy. And we both continue to pay taxes as it should be. I've compared costs of health insurance from private companies and chat with my neighbors about their policies. I've yet to find anything better then Tricare. I guess I'm a ****ing socialist (as would be every military retiree who accepts such coverage.)

Wrong boss hoggy. Those who served in the military earned whatever benefits they get. They did a great service to our country and the govt offers some of them those benefits. When a benefit is earned it is not socialism. Under socialism everyone is granted the so called benefits and they don't have to do anything to earn them.

6. I heard a guy

on New Orleans radio this afternoon saying he was a military retiree and just loved his health insurance but didn't think tax payers should be burdened with HEALTH CARE REFORM. Conservatism is a ****ing disease.

And one of my favorite quotes of all time: "keep your government out of my Medicare."

The horror stories you refer to relative to government health care have mostly to do with availability of treatment, not cost. Any military retireee who doesn't like his/her health care should decline it in writing.

I love my fellow taxpayers and I pony up happily. My wifes visit to the Pharmacist earlier in the week is one of the reasons why.

Govt is planning on gutting medicare and forcing the rest of us to have insurance.

The government giving the military healthcare coverage/benefits is to my husband's  (private sector) employer giving him his healthcare coverage/benefits.

They can't wrap their tiny minds around people earning benefits. They think everything should doled out equally.

I wonder if this porker lives near Gulfport.  My brother-in-law might be able to do some "recon" on this ****wad.

Well, if he was listening to a NOLA radio station, on the radio, it's likely he is around those parts.  I got people down that way too, that would love to chat with him.   :hammer:

I'm not military and have no first hand experience but I've heard both horrendous and good stories about the VA health care. Universally it is said to be slow with lots of visits and associated waits to get to the right doc and treatment.  True?

I've heard some nightmare stories about Tricare.  There's no perfect system, but gov't run universal/single payer helathcare would be the worst of the lot.

They can't get their pea brains around just the word earning.

I'm sick of seeing these military analogies.  I EARN my health care.  The Government doesn't give it to me out of the kindness of it's heart.

I am biased.  My G-Dad was a VA doctor for almost his entire professional career.  He loved his job, and loved his VA, and loved his patients.
