The Conservative Cave

Our Constitution supposedly operates with the "consent of the governed".
According to our Constitution, there is only ONE way to make law in this country - that is in the Congress - the elected representatives of the People.
The sovereign, is the person who makes the law. In the old days, the King said "I declare...", and whatever followed, became the law.
In this country, the People are sovereign. We are the only ones who can make the law. We do that via our elected representatives. In doing so, we give them a Power of Attorney to act on our behalf.
Congress, unfortunately, has re-delegated a big chunk of its law-making authority to the Executive Branch. This is "administrative law" - it is created by Executive Branch "administrators". Congress has, in effect, transferred our Power of Attorney to a third party - without our consent.
Recently, there has been the rise of a movement that calls itself the Sovereign movement. These are people who say "I do not consent to be governed" - at least, not in this way.
They consider that re-delegating law-making authority, and transferring the Power of Attorney without consent, is equivalent to a drunken gambler who is completely broke, using that Power of Attorney in a wager, and then losing it.
How much do you know about the Sovereigns? Anything? Would you like to find out? Seems to me, conservatives ought to be very interested in this movement. These people have a lot to offer - especially when it comes to legal mechanisms for protecting our Natural Rights against abuses of power by the government.

Its sounds to me to be a splinter of the Libertarian movement - which is the wrong way to go - what needs to happen is the Republicans need to become more familiar with The Constitution, and base policy from there. It would pull most of the Libertarians back home, making for a larger, more worthy party.

Pretty much a moonbat anarchy movement. Don't pay taxes, they can't make you. Don't buy license plates, they can't make you. Are 2 of the biggest rally cries. Both get them busted too. :lmao:
A "debate" with them involves a 50,000 word CC&P shit-and-git that no one can read, let alone the poster. In my experience on gun sites Sovereigns are just as bad if not worse than Ronulans and end up being banned.

The prior owners of our present residence belonged to that movement.......It took a SWAT team for the bank to get them out when they forclosed (and a 40-yard rolloff for the junk).......and we are STILL receiving notices from the IRS in the mail addressed to them, after nine years......
I hope the hell they are both in jail somewhere.......

What's with all the noobs coming in here recently and acting so arrogant...like they know better than the established members? A nood should tread lightly at first and get to know the feel of a site.

I can understand being enthusiastic but this one appeared a couple of weeks ago with some crazy stuff and now returned with more spam.
It is a common thing and in the best of situations one has to remember that anyone who signs up is probably somewhat opinionated and confident in their beliefs.
Wheat and chaff will always settle out. :)

Actually, the OP made some very good points.
Some of the very same points I've seen long standing members make themselves in one fashion or other in fact.
Don't be so damn quick to kill the messenger folks.

Most of the Ronulans and the 100%'ers are like that. Like their Libtard brethren...they are the only ones smart enough (in their minds anyway) to know what we REALLY need as far as political leadership and direction in this country.
The rest of us are just sheeple.

OK...
What is factually incorrect about the bulk of the OP? I'll grant you that the last part looks like opinion.
For the sake of debate should it be disected sentence by sentence so that people can point out exactly what parts that folks find incorrect or offensive?
Or are there just so damn many broken glass Republicans that post here that any statement not made by a GOP member is to be attacked, scorned and ridiculed?
I thought you Republicans were supposed to be the more open minded out of the two major political parties.
Sometimes you come off no better than the average DUer when it comes to attacking not the concept but the person that brought it.
:whatever:

Like the Ronulans they have a few valid points no doubt, but the whole movement itself is :mental:. They honestly believe and advocate that if you stick on a cardboard sign where your license plate is that says Sovereign it is good enough to make the law back off of you. That the belief in it alone makes you untouchable by mere mortal laws and taxes. The folks is nuckin futz.

I ran up on these nut jobs loooooooong before I ever stumbled into a political forum. Just wait. The shit-n-git debates will begin shortly. :-)
BTW try to find anything where I declared myself a Republican. My Voter Registration Card says Independant and I'll always be Independant in more ways than one. :innocent:

I can't say I know a whole lot about the movement. But I agree with the bulk of the OP and if more people acted like the sovereign power that they actually are, and exercised the authority that our FF fought and died to give them, this country probably wouldn't be so screwed up right now.
For decades the "people" have sit back and allowed their elected idiots to usurp their power and freedom.
Now we, as a nation, have crossed the cusp. We are past the point of no return. The republic is doomed; it is merely a matter of time. IMHO.

Me thinks that thou doth protest too much.
I don't recall accussing you or anyone else of being a Republican.
