Title: DUmmies Discuss Blame For Haiti
Post by: GOBUCKS on January 15, 2010, 11:39:29 PM
The catastrophe in Haiti sure is difficult to watch. The suffering is beyond comprehension. But it's also interesting to see the DUmmies flounder around expressing their concern, while trying to reconcile their reactions today with the way they reacted to the disaster in New Orleans:

What is happening in Haiti?
The situation in Haiti appears to be deteriorating. CNN is reporting at one hospital doctors and other medical staff
were evacuated for security reasons. They left patients injured and post-op completely alone.

Anderson Cooper is reporting there are no significant relief operations on the ground, in the community.

We are now approaching the fourth day since the earthquake and it seems reasonable to expect relief efforts
to be in full operation. It's just devasting watching what these people are going through.

I hate to say it, but if the resources don't get there soon and we start to see violence in the streets, this will fall on Obama shoulders.
Not fair, buts thats what will happen.

I don't know about that. It's been four days now, but it was apparently fair to blame W within hours for the suffering in New Orleans.

1. LOL
That Obama. If he's not causing the recession or starting a war in Iraq, he's busy messing around with the Presidential Earthquake Machine.

It was a Presidential Levee Failure Machine when W was in office, and the DUmmies believed it then.

This is the cancer that's been killing DU for some time now.

This must be the first time that a cancer has performed a public service.

6. I'm getting Katrina flashbacks and all I did was watch on teevee.
This is a really difficult moment but it will pass very soon. Meanwhile, the onlookers are feeling pretty helpless, too.

Doug's stupid ex-wife thinks this will pass very soon. Wonder what makes her think that. I doubt some democrats want it to pass too quickly. They would prefer to bring a few hundred thousand refugees into Florida, and let ACORN work on getting them registered to vote. Stay tuned for that proposal. It is as predictable as sunrise.

I am very disappointed!!!!

It makes me cry!!!!

All this suffering is on the Kenyan's watch. What is he doing? Where is the help? Why didn't he get the island evacuated before the quake?

I remember a post, before the hurricane had even hit, screaming "This is deliberate!"

As bad as it is in Haiti and I feel for those folks (they have my prayers) It sure is fun to watch the DUmmies bend themselves into pretzel shapes trying to defend 'O' and his handling of this tragedy.

For every poster over there pointing out how poorly this is being handled by the administration there are 100 apologists.

I seem to recall that the international response to the Tsunami a few years back was much faster than it seems to be to the Haiti earthquake.  Some of that could probably be blamed on the fact that international aid organizations with branches in Haiti were essentially destroyed by the earthquake, but considering that Haiti is so close to the US, I am honestly surprised at how long it seems to be taking.

Remember in Katrina the Coast Guard helicopters (federal gov't) were in action very quickly, Nagin's school buses never moved, Blanco refused to let in the National Guard because she thought bush wanted to take over the state or something.

Doesn't anyone remember the Berlin airlift? We used to drop tons of junk from big ass cargo planes right on top of the hungry Liederhosen wearing populace. If Jug Ears wasn't so coke addled, and/or puzzy whipped by Bitchelle, he might have thought of that...oh who am I kidding, Mush Mouth hasn't formed a decent thought in his pea sized brain pan since he contemplated suicide on his wedding night.

Probably all of them... I imagine those guys are very busy right now.

I keep waiting to hear some official statement from the duly-elected leaders of the Haitian government, but they seem to be silent.

Well, that's not really the same thing, is it?  Where is the Haitian government in this situation?  Granted, I only sit in front of a screen showing CNN for the eight hours a day I'm at work.  I do remember seeing Obama make at least one speech, but I haven't seen hide nor hair of any Haitian official.

Part of the problem, to be fair, is the fact that the infrastructure in Haiti would best be classified as "primitive."  Outside Port-au-Prince, most of what passes for "roads" would be passable by only logging skidders in the US, from what I've heard.  Inside Port-au-Prince, well, when the refugees were reported to having started to use cadavers as roadblocks:

Haiti Tries to Dig Out as Corpses Pile Up
By IOAN GRILLO / PORT-AU-PRINCE Friday, Jan. 15, 2010

Like a thick fog, the stench of death curdles the air in the streets of this shattered city. It comes from trundling trucks, where corpses are piled up and covered by bloodstained sheets, while young men with scarves on their faces warn onlookers to stand aside. It is expelled from pyres of burning tires that incinerate cadavers that have remained unattended too long in the dust and heat, lit by residents afraid that the carrion will attract prowling dogs and endanger children. And it surges through piles of rocks and rubble, where hospitals, schools, palaces and homes fell like cards as the ground shook with the fiercest earthquake to strike this island in two centuries.

No one can tell how many have perished, and the exact number of dead will be almost certainly never be known. Thousands? Tens of thousands? Hundreds of thousands? The panorama of destruction appears endless. Street to street, neighborhood to neighborhood, ever more shattered buildings, wounded survivors and decaying corpses can be found. In one alley, two bodies lie across from a group of teenagers sitting and chatting. Around the corner, dozens of cadavers are piled in the remnants of a government building that reportedly had 1,000 employees. Photographer Shaul Schwarz, on assignment for TIME, saw corpses piled on the street impeding traffic.

Well, it's bad.

But (and if I'm "insensitive," too bad), it seems that, by the remarks of some of the survivors, that the sense of "entitlement" has pervaded Haiti.  People have to understand that getting rescue workers anywhere takes time.  Hey, the ones either there now or in transit are going as hard as they can.  Sad to say, but it needs to be said.  Even though some people think he's the Second Coming of Christ, the Obamessiah can't just snap his fingers and make Caterpillar D-7s appear to clear out the wreckage.

Well the palace and many gov't buildings collapsed. Kind of hard to do a real good photo-op that inspires confidence in government.

I think there are too many threads on Haiti over at the dump to view or give the individual recognition they deserve at the moment.  This comment deserves mention so here it is with the link to the origional dump thread at the bottom.

35. Yes, why are people here not siding with Honore? He HATED the Katrina response and the mercs.

Hear what he said on Anderson Cooper tonight about "guys running around in body armor and M-16s because they are afraid of poor people. That's the same thing I saw after Katrina."

He said they need a military-level disaster relief response, NOT TROOPS.

He's simply arguing that the State Dept doesn't know shit about disaster relief and he's probably right.

23. Thank goodness someone with clout is saying so.
Before too many more die there for nothing.

Btw, I saw the head of US AID on tv, and he looks like a drive-up. Somebody who knows something had better get in charge of this, and fast.

Of course in a post on another thread the primative Waiting for Godot, muses about why the 82'nd can't just hot rope in like hubby did in Nam. :fuelfire:

The DUmmie stooopidity reminded me of the BIG TIME CBS reporter that was flying over New Orleans in a helicopter talking about how bad it was. Down below were 3 people on a roof top..... :rotf:....and he says "All we can do is give them some bottled water"... :rotf:....and from 200 feet above he tosses out two measly bottles of water...... :lmao:....I can just imagine the sound they made when they hit......

I think everyone knows that if the disaster relief goes poorly (& it is going poorly) it is going to be Bush's fault. Now if the relief had gone smoothly (which it is not 4 days so far with little to show) it would have been to the mostest intelligent, smarterest, god like president Obama.  American Pravdas first story, on the second day was how great Dear Leader was doing.  That story has now been scrubbed.

Herb Tarlic, WKRP......"With God as my witness I thought they could fly" :rotf:

In other news, The first Multi-National Mulatto President present, will be flying to a Third world socialist hell hole Sunday to help prop up a failing regime.  One can only hope Martha appreciates his dissing the Haitians to bail her Lilly white arse.

That's what I keep thinking.  I have seen a bunch of pictures of some really healthy men just sitting around.  It looks like they are all waiting for someone else to DO for them what they should be doing for themselves.

Secretary Gates did bring up the issue of food drops.  He said they had decided against them because they were concerned about setting off riots, and wanted to use a traditional distribution system.
