Starbucks is closing a 130 employee call center in Seattle and relocating it to New Mexico. Although we in Seattle don't aren't thrilled, I'm so pleased they're not moving it overseas. And congrats, NM! Keep an eye out for its arrival, job seekers.
Yeah, like any primitive is going to apply for a job.
Sure.
Although this might be something up the defrocked warped primitive's alley.

1. just out of curiosity
what does a Starbucks call center do?
I admit to being not entirely on top of the Starbucks business model.

4. Starbucks has a credit card and gift cards
I'm guessing it's to handle issues with those cards.

5. My boyfriend used to work at their call center

7. They said it handles customer inquiries and complaints. So customer service maybe would have been a better choice of words.

6. help! my beans are burnt
methinks call center drones are marginally cheaper in NM. min. wage WA: $8.55/hr., NM $7.50/hr. 130 FTE's at a savings of $1.05/hr. = $283,920/yr. saved.

Yeah, but in New Mexico, 55% of the workers will answer the phone with the word "Que?".

No wonder they are moving it to NM. SOBs are just clowning around on office hours.

Well, you know Starbucks is a company operated by and for DUmbasses. One of the executive DUmmies had a brainstorm when he realized he could save money if he didn't have to pay the going minimum rate for Washington hippies. So Starbucks' DUmmy Board of DUrectors had a meeting on it, and passed down an edict. They wanted Starbucks to follow the lead of more successful companies who have reduced their call center costs. That's where the problem occurred. The junior exec assigned to make it happen got confused. He moved the call center to a reservation in New Mexico. The Board of DUrectors was furious. "Not woo-woo Indians, you idiot!", they screamed. But it was too late.

CALL CENTER DRONE: "I have a half-wit, double-rage conniption with extra froth and a sprinkle of nutcase."
