That's for my bosses.
Diesel ain't coming back today, so half the shop got tonight off (with pay). The rest of us come in for our 12. Problem is, while the diesel will probably be back tomorrow, if it isn't, the guys off tonight get to come in and get paid OT/DT for their 12, while we get jack shit.
Life ain't fair, but it shouldn't be so "bend me over and slam me in the ass", either.
Warm today--might even get above freezing.
FML.

Friday...last day of exams for my big kiddos, which also means they come home at 11:00 (well, I pick them up at 11...lol). I think I've decided I'm going to take them out for lunch when I pick them up.
Supposed to be pushing 50 today! And tomorrow! If that damn ground hog sees his shadow in a couple weeks I'm gonna kick his ass.

I hope that today goes by smoothly. Looking forward to an uneventful weekend, with NO social activities. I am becoming growly and need some recharge time.

Already there.
I just took a chance and e-filed my federal taxes without my W-2. I did it last year, no major deal, save one--for whatever brilliant reason, my company's division changed names. So, I called up HR in Florida and confirmed that yes, the employer ID number IS in fact still the same, as is the name and address which will be on the W-2 I will receive eventually.
No sense in letting Unca Zero keep one dime of mine for one second longer than absolutely necessary. That and a long weekend somewhere warm is sounding REAL nice right about now.

I have yet another doctor appointment today. This time for my Rheumatologist, just for a follow-up and a bone density test. I don't want to go. I'm cold and just want to stay home.
I thought I would point out something else I hate about California. They don't have Mrs. Bairds bread. My kids like white bread (I know it is bad) and I have bought just about every brand that is out there of white bread since moving to CA. I hate them all. SaraLee bread smells like stinky feet. So I decided to start buying wheat bread, it sat in the cabinet and didn't get eaten. Then I saw Orawheat "soft family" whole grain white and decided to buy it. I really like it. So I guess I'm pacified although I do miss Mrs. Bairds. It tastes like the bread I had when I was little. I loved the half loaf I could buy too because we don't go through bread very fast. Maybe I could use this as an opportunity to slowly switch my kids to wheat.

Getting caught up on reports, finished 2 at 2:30 this morning, overslept and finished the 3rd at 10:30.
Showed a house to friends that are looking for a way to make two residences out of one, but not duplex-y. Maybe a possibility, if they want to spend about 50-60K.
Waiting for my "boys" to get home, they are going with me to do an interior shoot in the projects. Sunny Friday afternoon with temps going up to mid-50's after days and days of cold...and I'm dragging them to a house that's been foreclosed on in an "urban" area.... :evillaugh: This is the first one of these for my son to go along....he asked if we were taking guns along. :uhsure:

Not going to the projects this afternoon... :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
Talked to the agent that has the property....3 full floors plus a basement...no utilities since '05 but occupied until the last few days. One bathroom does not have a floor and can see daylight though the roof. Told me it was not safe to go down there alone, and probably not a good idea to got this afternoon at all.
Get to go Monday morning...oh crap! That's MLK day!!!!....and it's a block off of MLK Blvd..... :banghead:

For those who may be interested, all the stupid prednisone I have taken over the years have wrecked havoc on my bones. I like St. Jude's because they are all connected and he got my results before I even got into the room to see him (I took the test at 10:30 and my appt was at 11:00). My bone density came back at -2.4 which is considered osteopenia (I have never heard of that term before). -2.5 is considered osteoporosis. A score between +1 and -1 is considered normal.
He said if it was a little better he would just suggest strength training but he said he needed to prescribe medication. He prescribed Actonel (as well as Vit. D 50,000 IU's every other week (I was taking it every week because my Vit D levels were really low, apparently they are normal now) and Calcium. I'm a little nervous about taking Actonel because I know people who have had side effects.
I had a bone density test way back before I got pregnant with my last child because of the high dose steroids I was taking. It was worse than it was this time so I guess the fosamax I took for it back then did help. I stopped when I got pregnant with my daughter and never started it again.

May I wreak some havoc on your bones?

Would you like me to pimp slap him a bit? Meet me at Heroes. I'll be the one sitting at the bar with a tall frosty mug o' brew, eating a bag of peanuts.

Oh c'mon.
I said "May I".

BEG, I was diagnosed with osteopenia several years ago .....had my first bone density test at 50. I thought it would be in my back, but surprisingly it's in my right hip. Being small framed with light eyes is just about a guarantee of getting it from what I understand.
I took the medication for about 18 months.....until it wreaked havoc with my esophagus.
I'd like to try the once a year IV stuff....but from what I understand, it is incredibly expensive. Not an option for me right now. :(

Her prescribed the monthly dose. I don't know if that will help with the side effects or not. I'm nervous to start taking it Deb. Kinda funny because here I have taken Prednisone on and off for years and I really didn't worry about the many side effects except for the way it made me look when I was on high doses. I am so vain I swear.

Deb after I responded to your post I googled some more on the side effects and found this: LINK (http://www.askapatient.com/viewrating.asp?drug=20835&name=ACTONEL)
I am officially scared to start taking it. I think I'm going to talk to my doctor about it again.
*edited to add: There is no way I am going to take this medication.

I don't know what to tell you....I haven't taken anything for about a year. :( Honestly, without insurance, it's just not affordable.
I need to at least take vitamins :thatsright:
I'm not a milk drinker, but have really upped my cheese intake. I snack on it and grapes in the afternoon, and am just trying to eat healthier.

He did stress how important it was to take Vit. D and Calcium. I would take both of those (which are fairly inexpensive) and do strength training, which is what he said he would have told me to do if my bone density was a little less "bad" than it was. That is what I am planning on doing and I'm going to call him next week and tell him that.
