My best friend stole $120 from me today.

Cash.
She was the only one in the house; husband came home with it last night; we've looked everywhere.
And she called me yesterday to ask me to lie to a friend of hers so that she could borrow $175 for a car payment on her boyfriend's car.
I am absolutely heartbroken, not to mention we kinda really needed the money.

I know we're all having a hard time right now..but she could have just asked. She's been my best friend for ten years; and the only one I have left who knew my now-dead ex-fiance. Guess all that is gone.

Not sure what we're going to do. Hoping for the best.

Drinking and crying,
lildreamer316

I'd ask the husband. Of coarse he'd lie.

2. Damn, what a sad post. I'm so sorry.

That's tough. Maybe a bigger picture will emerge to take the edge off.

Could all be a huge mistake.

Good luck and please let us know the outcome.

That's a real blow.

Am I perverted tonight or is this writing itself?

5. I really hope so, but...

this morning, when she was over (we are both sleeping on the couches in the living room that is open to the kitchen because we don't have heat in the bedroom right now, only in son's room) she was volunteering to feed and change my son..in other words, I remember my brain saying to me, "why is she being so nice?".

I knew, even being half-asleep when she was talking to me,that something wasn't right.

Believe me, I really wish it was all a big mistake.

..thanks.

What's wrong with the heat? Duct work?

3. I'm so sorry. That was really shitty of her.

I hope you can somehow repair the friendship, though, if you think that's what's best.

Lots of love,

two or three times.

I think this might be the end of it.

I'm not even that angry, just dissapointed..because this means she is really headed down a bad road.

Thanks..

AND HEY.

Love you. You are a wonderful soul, no matter what your parents do. Never forget that.

I would love to see her accuse the friend and get sued for slander.

Wouldnt surprise me either way if they'd blow $120 on snack cakes or a lady of the evening.

Play your cards right, and with most DUmmy's you could get the whole $120 for a single rock - and leave the DUmmy thinking it got a great deal took you to the cleaners in the process.

Nah, they were nodding off on the couch.  Probably bought a few too many hits of the horse.

$120 will get you a quarter ounce of dope. Of course, once you spend all your dough on weed, there's not much left for ho-ho's. Why doesn't she just go rob another friend and keep that whole cycle of wealth redistribution rolling?

Or she could try heroin. That would show her friend who's boss. Plus, it's cost effective in the short run. Which is only as far as these pathetic future mugging victims can ever see.

Seriously, I read this forum and I think "did I really traumatize those nerds that much when I beat them up for their lunch money back in Jr. high?"

On Edit: dang you people are quick. Oh, and rocks go for 10 to 15 depending on the neighborhood.

Hate to disappoint you in your fantasy search for a like-minded and -behaved individual.  You must be looking for someone else.  Good luck in your quest.  Might I suggest you PM dutch?  I hear he likes sitting around the house with his panties around his ankles, what with him being an officer and all.

Sparky, you and Aaron are sending out some interesting visuals, this early morning.

BTW Aaron, Sparky was a bubble head, you know ----120 males went on a cruse and 60 couples came back.

I believe the point of this topic is that somehow hubby cashed pay check or with drew money from the bank, some how got cash and brought it home.   Wife's best friend comes to visit and the money cannot be found after she leaves.

There is something very wrong with this story.

Long time friend for starters.   One gets to know people after some time and become aware of the moral set of that person.  You know and are friends with anyone that lies, cheats or steals should not be surprised when they treat you as they do to others-----even family members will take advantage of you.

Drugs do not even have to come into the question, good old Barley Corn will do the trick.

My take on this is this woman with a small baby has a friend she has known for years, she and husband can afford a PC and toys but cannot buy blankets to sleep under when the bedroom gets cold.

All 3 are getting drunk as skunks and pass out in the livingroom.   Next morning friend is gone so is money.    Later woman gets call from friend asking her to lie to someone so she can swindle money from them.

Much possibilities here, Husband may be sick and tired of living with wife and baby, may have taken up with wife's friend.   You know, wife's friend hangs out with them all the time, the uncharacteristic actions of the friend to help with baby is a red flag.   Sort of a silent message to move over girl, I'm coming into your territory.

A mistake, possible, I have known people that crawled home from being on a drunk and became somehow paranoid and hid their car keys---2 years later they still cannot find them.

We were not given the time line to this event, hubby comes home with cash, does he keep it in his pocket or hide it under the baby's bed.?

I can get into this stuff big time.   I helped solve a crime in Hawaii years ago just by noticing the time line and placing myself in the shoes of the victim.    Got the hankering then to play with these things in my head.

I don't care how drunk or drugged one becomes, people still act on instinct and function somehow even if they have a black out spell.

Example, here------I may have danced on the bar naked last night, I do not remember a thing, but I must have had a good time, the phones been ringing off the hook with calls from the 7 Th. fleet.

I wonder if the DUmmy has bothered to ask the friend.  My first step would be to ask "Hey, did you happen see what I did with some cash while you were over here?  I'm missing $120, and I really need it for..."  That gives the friend a chance to save face and return the money by saying that it was an accident, or maybe the DUmmy really did just put it somewhere and forgot about it.

I accidentally took almost $100 from my cousin when I was 17.  He gave me a 100 dollar bill to buy some coffee, and I assumed he gave me a twenty, which is what I had in my other pocket.  I used the 20 to buy coffee, and gave him the change.  He gave me a weird look, and made some comment about how coffee must really be getting expensive, and I said yeah.  I didn't even realize it until he had returned to Washington, and I happened to feel something in my jeans pocket.  I called him up, sent him a $100 check, and life went on.

Anybody know what city in NC the little tart strips in?

I'm betting she's a Fayetteville stripper...in one of the joints right outside the main gate at Bragg, nestled amongst the pawn shops and payday loan places.

How do you have someone you consider to be your "best friend" and NOT know their character? Well, but as we've learned recently, that whole "content of their character" thing are just words to trot out on MLK's birthday not deeply held convictions.

Exactly. I was thinking of a two bit Ho. Just .25 cents. One quarter of a dollar.
