Democrats are preparing to throw the race card back in the laps of Republicans as part of a counter attack designed to help save Harry Reid’s political career.
First, Reid’s allies plan to distribute the NAACP vote ratings of Republican senators who have scolded him. The data will be made available to editorial boards, cable programs and the blogosphere — including votes on minimum wage, community-oriented policing, education funding and HIV/AIDS programs.
Separately, the Congressional Black Caucus plans to issue a new statement Monday, defending Reid and brushing back Republicans.
“Senator Reid’s record provides a stark contrast to actions of Republicans to block legislation that would benefit poor and minority communities – most recently reflected in Republican opposition to the health bill now under consideration,” CBC Chairwoman Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) said. “I look forward to Senator Reid continuing to serve as Majority Leader to guide this important agenda through the Senate.”
These moves to turn the race issue back onto Republicans is risky, yet it shows how Reid and his allies are ready to pull out all the stops to help the majority leader recover from his disastrous comments about Barack Obama being “light-skinned” and having no “Negro dialect.” The comments were revealed in the book “Game Change” by journalists John Heilemann and Mark Halperin.

He's getting hammered in the state polls from what I've heard. But the election is still 10 months away and that is an enternity in the political world.
He's been running 15 points behind a "generic republican" for the past year, before the three present candidates declared.......I think that he's toast......and the Dems know it......they are just making an effort to distract from his latest gaffe.

The money will kick in not too much further down the road. And that's where things will get interesting.
I'm not sure that there's enough money in the world to save Reid after he screwed over the hospitality workers unions in Vegas a year ago..........the cash might be there, but the votes won't.......

Gotcha, but something tells me that ol' Harry hasn't quite got up a head of steam yet. The DNC will throw all available resources at keeping the turd in office. To have him voted out when he's at the peak of his stupidity would be unconscionable.
Money goes a long, long way in helping people forget about how idiotic Harry really is. He's already got $25 million to spend in his coffers and while Repubs will go national in an effort to oust him (I just may contribute toward that myself), I dunno...
Harry shows an abysmal 33 percent favorable rating among NV voters with 52 percent saying unfavorable. The remaining 15 percent who are presumably on the fence isn't a large number in comparison to some races I've seen and tracked, but.....
Harry losing the election isn't unheard of, of course; stranger things have happened. I just have that sneaking suspicion that the money hasn't kicked in yet and that when it does, it will help buy forgetfulness.
I hope I'm wrong.
