Supposed to get snow tonight, but only about 3 inches. Of course, they will probably cancel school tomorrow, since I'm scheduled to work!
Fun trip to the grocery store planned for today...kids are revolting that "there is nothing to eat" :whatever:
Still trying to get used to Mr Flame working the evening shift...it totally sucks.

Another day of DBPP. Currently I'm in a class of ONE.
Here's a picture of me the instructor managed to get:

Hang in there, Sparky. :lmao:
Not seeing any of this "snow" we've been forecast. I expected to wake up to a white world blanketed with ice. Pffft.
-
Yeah if it snows this area will come to screeching halt. *eyeroll*
-
We had about 4 inches of snow overnight, and it's still coming down. :censored: At least it did warm up some, it's a whopping 21 degrees this morning.
-
Wintry weather update: still no snow.
All that hype for nothing. Jerks.
-
Another typical January day around here, cool and cloudy. Nothing terribly interesting going on.
-
I don't have a penis stuck in a pipe. Looking at it that way, it's a great day.

I can fix that. Well, it might not be interesting, but I could make it terrible... :lmao:
-
Just a cold blustery day here. It will be colder tomorrow. We are supposed to have 72+ hours of subfreezing temps. The record was 292 in 1983, December. That was fun. Mom sent my brother and I walking up to the store in ICE.
-
It is cold and we are expected to get snow this afternoon

It was announced on our local news last night at 11 that Nashville schools were to be closed today. :lmao:
We don't have snow yet here either, but it's not expected until mid afternoon.
On the other hand....I HAVE HOT WAAAA-TER!!!! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
Which means I will also have HEAT downstairs!!!!
There was a cylindrical aluminum filter that filters the gas (?) and it needed to be replaced. :whatever:
I don't care what it was....I'm just going to go stand in the shower for about a half hour in just a bit!!!!! :-)
It's a beeeee-u-ti-ful day in the neighborhood!!
-
Off to the Doctor today to see why my blood dohickies are all out of whack. Then to the VFW to have an electrician look at the mess there.(It's all cobbled together, probably NOT within code) Then I have the accounting crap to do there.
-
Winter weather update: still no snow to speak of. There is a little bit on the grass median across the street, but that is all.
Good luck, Thor.

I have seen one or two flakes go past my window....apparently that was enough to let the kids out of school early. As of right now they are being dismissed an hour early this afternoon.... :whatever:
Good luck, Thor...

It looks like its snowing outside, but the window could just be dirty. These depressing, tinted office windows always make it look like its raining outside.
-
The weather guy is on right now....he said our air is so dry that the majority of the snow is just evaporating as it comes down.
The cold front is still 7 hours or so away from us....and by midnight the snow should be past us into the Carolina mountains. But it's to be "bitterly cold" tomorrow....but 40's by end of next week...

:cheerleader2: Lol. Enjoy your shower!! You may look like a "raisin" when you emerge, but who cares!
Weather update here in No. Ca.: Ready...MORE FOG! Go figure. :(
-
Seasonal precipitation update: We have snow for decorative purposes only... it's not sticking to anything, but it looks nice on its way down.

It was in the 40's when I took my daughter to school this morning although it was in the low 70's by the afternoon yesterday.
I go to the neurologist to have a nerve test today in an hour. Thor (I think it was Thor) told me is is painful. I have read views that it is painful to just uncomfortable online. It is to assess "motor strength" in my right foot so that the orthopedic doctor can map out what he will transfer where. The doctor has it listed as an EMG/NCV for those of you who are interested.
My daughter is much better today. I hope once she stops the prednisone that it doesn't just come back.
My husband left for Las Vegas this morning for the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) and gets back sunday night. Then he leaves Monday for China. I hate when he is gone.

I'm jealous of him. I'd love to go to one of those shows.

Back during the tech boom (90s), I used to get to go to Comdex and PC Expo for work. They were fun shows! Always came back with lots of toys!
Upper 30s today and sunny (yay). Supposed to start snowing around midnight with a couple/three inches by rush hour tomorrow morning which is just enough to cause driver 'retardation' around here!

I'm setting in the waiting room now. I was almost run over by an old woman in the parking lot. She slowed down to go over a speed bump. I walked behind her car. Apparantly she likes to take a couple of tries to get over the speed bump. Her car rolled back ( she didn't hit her break) and hit me barely on the hand.
I guess I am over being overly dramatic about her almost running me over.. :p

Now see, this was a perfect opportunity to spin a spectacualr bouncy...I'm sure she had an Obama bumper sticker on, and saw you getting out of your car with your Palin '12 sticker on it and she came zooming over to screech at you and hit you because she didn't hit the brakes, and caused you severe injury and mental turmoil.
Are you sure that's not how it happened? :-)

Yeah yeah that is exactly how it happened. :-)
I'm still sitting in the waiting room. I bet they are doing it on purpose (my appointment was at 11:00 it is now 11:50). I bet there is the secret mark in my file that shows who I voted for.

They are just practicing what 0Bamacare will be like.

Well, I have to thank Mr Snuggle Bunny for posting his afflictions and causing me to do some research. It turns out that my Dr. has never done an Amylase & Lipase test. He is doing one of those. He also is performing a C-peptide test. I am scheduled for an ultrasound bright and early Sat A.M. After that is a waiting game for the results. So, the day hasn't been terrible. Met up with one of my old high school friends from Garland. He has been living up here in Texomaland for a while, now.
-
So the test wasn't so bad. I really liked the doctor.
-
Well. The drive home was an adventure in traction control. Or lack thereof. Actually, it wasn't too bad until I got into my neighborhood.
The snow is gone and has been replaced (as expected) by a thin sheet of invisible ice. I was in the grocery store parking lot and my car slowly started turning in a circle without making any forward progress. I pushed in the clutch and tried again a little slower. I would have stayed out there and spun little effortless donuts for fun, but I wanted to make it home in one piece.
I can see this is going to be a fun two months. :lmao:
-
People forget sometimes about the light poles, when they do donuts in parking lots. Not me, I love my cars. But people.

Light Poles are hard to hit when they move..... :lmao:

Ah yes, but the light ones are less likely to make a dent. :-)

Yeah, but they DO bounce pretty well........... :-)

True that. And that means less harm to your auto!
