note from franksolich: I have no idea why, but this ancient thread seems to have attracted a great deal of attention from lurkers lately, and so as to make it easier for them to find it, I'll move it to the front page and "sticky" it until sometime Sunday night.
Well, Doug's stupid ex-wife, soon to be blowed up real good in another thread, has discovered DUmmy TSS's masterpiece of moonbattery being read on a TV show by someone called Thom Hartmann. Hartmann has an audience somewhat smaller than Bob and Doug McKenzie's Great White North, consisting entirely of a few prawns from the DUmp:

Thom just read The Straight Story's post on his show.
I think it's live -- on Free Speech TV?
Well done, Thom Hartmann, well done The Straight Story.

All I watch: ESPN and Free Speech TV. Is there really such a thing, outside the homo Bay Area?
Send it to Keef and the carpetmuncher! The Kootch! Conyers! Include the part about skydiving!

4. Good. His story should be sent straight to Obama and Congress.
No one should have to live like that in this country.
Sweetie, no one does. Don't worry your tiny little brain. It was a made up tale, intended to scam a few bucks from the DUmp, that got out of control.

5. Good
I hope some people HERE learned a lesson from it, too.
They did. No matter how sad your tale, your scam will fail unless you have partners to make the fraud seem more realistic.

14. I agree...while I was reading it I thought
this has to get a wider audience. This is not an isolated story...multiply it by how many I wonder. Too damn many that's for sure.I bet everyone knows of friends or family that have similar horror stories and struggles.
This can't continue!
It can continue! You just inspired other DUmmies to make up similar tales of woe.

18. multiply the unnecessary suffering and absolute sadness
there is so much out there.
It really is completely unacceptable, yet, here we are.
I read The Straight Story's bouncy, and laughed my ass off. It was a masterpiece!

17. Anyone who can read The Straight Story's story and NOT be pissed off
is not human.
Thank you Tom Hartmann for spreading this account to a wider audience.
Actually DUmmy, he got a much wider audience here at CC than on that moonbat TV channel.
TSS's scam attempt brings precious memories back to Beth. Before this damn camper, she lived in a beautiful apartment in The City, with Andyscam money pouring in during those brief golden weeks

19. Thom was instrumental in helping us raise funds for Andy.
Looking back after the intervening years of scams, I don't know how most people did a gut check and realized it was for real and on the level. But, Thom did, immediately.
Like the rest of the DUmmies, Thom fell for it.

You are my best guys.
Did Thom read the part about skydiving?

After all skydiving is a basic human right. :thatsright:

Walking away from Beth probably stilll ranks as the best day in Doug's star-crossed life. :cheers1:

Oh these people make me sick. They should all be scammed out of any meager life's savings they may have. Anybody who is so gullible to let anybody play their heartstrings like a fiddle deserve it, and I would enjoy a hearty laugh when it happens to them, and they post their tale of woe about it. Damn bleeding hearts.
Speaking of bleeding hearts, there's a couple of goons over there wringing their hands about the knicker-bomber. To have to spend your whole life in jail when life is just beginning! He was brainwashed anyway, it's just not fair!!!!! I didn't bring the thread over, it wasn't entertaining enough.
Who the hell is Thom Hartmann? Who spells their name "Thom?"

Apparently an obscure radio announcer who makes Mike Malloy look moderate.
I never heard of him until Doug's ex-wife promoted him during the Scamdal.
And then after hearing of him, I was always getting him confused with another of Doug's ex-wife's favorite really obscure personalities, Pete Camejo.
In fact, when the obscure Pete Camejo died, I thought they were referring to the obscure Thom Hartmann.

FSTV is part of our satellite package in this neck of the woods. It is rather stupid, full of Canadian, Palestinian, and other amateurishly-produced foreign content to go along with the native moonbattery.

I used to have it when I had DishNetwork, watched it a few times and thought it was like a televised DUmp.

"Knickerbomber" -- excellent!! :II: Did you come up with that?
T-HOM is one of their favorites over there, so he must be a total moonbat!

"Knickerbomber" -- excellent!!
I saw someone on RedState who described the bomber as the "Crotchbomber."

I like Limbaugh's term: the 'Fruit of Ka-boom bomber'.

Ah yeah, I saw one of those threads, moaning about the poor little misguided youth. They were wondering what happened to him to force him to such extremes. :bawl: :bawl:

Doug Ferrari is every bit as much of a deranged lunatic moonbat as Beth. They were a match made in hell. The only difference is that Doug doesn't post at the DUmp, and on rare occasions when the concentration of heroin and cocaine in his blood gets low enough, he has a brain.

Looking back after the intervening years of scams,
Yeah have you returned all the money you stole in your BlackBox voting scam?
Are you still just "$10 dollars away" from discovering the truth?
ETA: Doug's ex-wife complaining about scams is like Bill Clinton teaching a class on monogomy.
-
njpines: Nope, that was Mark Steyn's. I stoled it. I hadn't heard of Rush's--that's funny!
I was surprised when Beth posted that #19. I would have thought she'd have kept quiet as a mouse concerning all online fundraising. I thought they were found out.

the post is a poignant and heart wrenching reality check!
And it's another opportunity for all of you on the left to play "I'm more compassionate than thou" because you'll drone on and on and on about how awful this ****ing loser's SELF-MADE situation is and how SOMEONE (i.e. government which is shorthand for Americans with a job paying taxes) should DO something and no one should have to live like this because anyone who whines loud enough is obviously a victim of a male-dominated corporate culture who lost his manhood long ago.
So far we don't even know what the X has (except a couple of suckers endlessly fawning over her like love-sick 6th graders). It's either MS or Parkinson's. It's GOT to be one of those two (as opposed to Lyme Disease, small strokes, diabetes, hypothyroidism, or any number of other diseases with similar symptoms) even though we don't yet have a diagnoses. We DO know that as of this date she still has "state" insurance (i.e. Medicaid soon to be foisted on the rest of us if you losers get your way). Incidentally, "state" insurance S-Chip or Medicaid) doesn't expire. You can lose it if you obtained in fraudulently or if your income goes up. While benefits vary from state to state (for instance in Washington state they'll even pay for you to go to the prestigious Johns Hopkins with nothing more than a referral from your doctor), Medicaid isn't like yogurt...it doesn't have a "best if used before said date".
However, lets take the twisted, pathetic, whiny little prick at his word. If I KNEW my insurance was going to expire in X number of days, I'd be on the phone with my doctor every damn day until he or she agreed to run tests or send me to a specialist. I'd be on the phone with the Medicaid officials finding out what I needed to do to keep my coverage. I'd be on the Internet looking for resources to pay for my meds and organizations to help pay for my self-diagnosed wasting disease.
But you know what the ugliest part of this whole sordid tale is? You sick ****s are turning your daughter into an emotional train wreck just to garner extra sympathy for your "cause". THE X DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A DIAGNOSIS YET. HOW THE HELL CAN YOU CREATE SUCH CHAOS THAT YOUR POOR LITTLE GIRL THINKS HER MOTHER COULD DIE? THAT'S JUST TWISTED. And it's child abuse. Especially since both Parkinson's and MS can be managed with medication for YEARS, even DECADES.
Oh, and you want to pay for your X wife to go sky diving and your daughter's dental care? How about you be proactive instead of whining on the Internet! How about raking leaves, shoveling snow, pruning trees, yard clean-up, taking stuff to the dump or Salvation Army for others? Since you people are supposed to be so damned compassionate you could even provide all these services to seniors and the handicapped for a discount. Make some fliers and put them up in the neighborhood, or take them door to door. Just a couple odd jobs a day and in a couple of months you'd probably have enough for both. Hell, you might even be able to afford to have the X parachute into the dentist's office with the daughter.
Or, Beth could just hold another fund raiser.

It's still one of the wildest abortive scams in DUmp history. The woman has every neurological malady known to science, and is a death's doorstep. DUmmy The Straight Story's plea is for skydiving cash:

At some point you just say you are done. And I am at that point.
I spent several hours with my X today. She has 11 prescriptions, some of which she cannot get covered with her state insurance (which runs out at end of month). She is going to the hospital tomorrow, I asked her to promise me she would ask them to admit her and try to find out what is all wrong with her. She is coughing up blood, has two brain cysts, parkinson's disease (though it may be MS), and can hardly talk right now.
She has been to urgent care and the hospital several times in the last few weeks. When my daughter is over I just tell her mommy is getting a checkup. And I hope she has not heard the conversations I have had with dad about it all. One Dr. thinks she may have brain cancer.

21. Folks on DU have helped me before, would never ask for such again - just kills me
Someday I will be able to help others. I do what I can now by paying it forward. I have given money to many over the last few years when I had it.
I was employed, but was on family leave act and did not get some paychecks (ran out of vacation days, thought I had more than I did, nd had issues with corp credit card where the company told me many things relating to my trip were covered then later told me they were not). DU'ers stepped in and helped me out. I still get ripped for it on some sites where some folks have nothing better to do than rip on us.
I only wish for two things right now - one is to get my X a gift certificate for skydiving and to help her find her real mom
He's due beer and travel money, and many experiences, and it will be sent.

At some point, you just have to give in and go to the light. They have no problem killing babies, and euthanasia is next to fag weddings in esteem on the dump, plus all they do is whine about overpopulation and Big Pharma. Sounds like the "X" needs to be pushed out a window, or be given the Lenny treatment from Of Mice and Men.
And the same goeo for scores of other DUmmies.
