As an addendum, nyceve and I no longer work with, or receive funds from Firedoglake.
We will continue though to be energetic advocates for real health care reform. Eve wrote her first diaries about health care five years ago, when her own insurance was cancelled. I began my work on health care reform a year ago, and have been advocating for the public option ever since Senator Max Baucus issued his white paper. We will continue to champion real health care reform in the weeks and months ahead. We also would like to thank everyone at Firedoglake for their great work on the public option."
When asked why, slinkerwink had this to say:

I have to say that slinkerwink has been one of the best activists out there for first, the Single Payer HCR and then for the Public Option. Her arguments were always spot on and she still fights hard through strong activism. She calls members of the House and Senate and works diligently for progressive HCR. She has done far more than most in keeping leftward pressure on the HCR bill.
I will not speculate on the reasons for the parting, but I have my suspicions and you probably know what they are.
While FDL has lost a great activist, the progressive movement has not.
