I did it. I screamed out a diatribe at the end of Avatar
I don't know what came over me. I read David Swanson's post the other day and I guess I was inspired.
I was in the center middle back row and I shouted.
The US is the Marines in this movie. Get out of Afghanistan and Iraq. Our government is killing innocents every day. Call your Congressperson and Senator and stand up for something real.
The whole theatre went silent.

"The whole theatre went silent."
Well. No shit. They were probably hoping for your minder to jerk on your choke leash.

5. You'd make Cameron proud
When asked about the political tones of the movie, Cameron unapologetically admitted them.
Cameron probably wouldn't want word getting out about full-blown lunatics going snakeshit in the theaters. Hard to get asses in the seats that way.

16. I had planned to see it on sunday in the Imax
After reading this shit, I won't be doing it out of fear somebody will ruin it like you did for a theater full of people.
Like I said.

19. You're welcome to your opinion.
So is the crazy drunk hobo that hangs out down by the circle-K, but I don't enjoy him shouting them in my face either.
I might add, crazy drunk hobos are often more coherent than DUers.

20. My opinion. No, the fact the US has killed a million innocent civilians in Iraq
Is a established fact...
And, we are murdering innocents in Afghanistan every day.
This isn't an opinion.
The fact that it can be construed as such just makes me wish I said more.
Another DUmmy who, incredibly, continues to live in denial of the role the Freedom Fightersâ„¢ play in the deaths of Iraqi civilians.

24. Ruin it? The movie was over.
Yes, the movie was over. Little did the audience know a Selected Short was to follow - "Screaming Morons From Hell"

Those theater patrons who thought she was a nutcase were right. From another thread just a few minutes earlier:

2. I am so sorry. I am in a rough patch with my illness too
I know how hard it can be
This week has been hell.
I am alone tonight and struggling. My family went to bed and I thought I would come here and post to see if anyone else was alone and depressed and your post was the first thing I saw when I clicked in the lounge.
You aren't alone.

Just like at the end of "the Patriot" we all stood and screamed "Viva La Revolicion!"

4. Poser.
I went to Alvin and the Chipmunks and in the middle of the movie I jumped up, set the third to fifth rows of seats on the fire, tore off my clothes, recited Tennyson, then pissed on some kids.
You should have seen the little ****ers crying.
I'm hardcore.
That'll teach them.
The sad thing is, he is probably telling the truth.

:lmao:
Or like my buddies and I did at the end of We Were Soldiers, when they were scrolling through the casualty lists from the Battle of the Ia Drang Valley; we came to attention, hands over our civillian hearts. Wasn't more than 10 seconds that the rest of the theater joined us.

Her family probably got tired of her standing up and screaming in the middle of dinner and went to bed early.

This one is nuttier than the pecan cake I made the other day.

*cough* bullshit *cough*
-
It would be really nice if I could wake up tomorrow with a normal mood.
Sadly, it takes forever to get a bloody psychiatrist and nobody will give me ******* mood stabilizers except for some mystical psychiatrist who hasn't called me yet.
So their definition of normal involves psych doctors and meds.
And they wonder why they ain't normal?

AH--- people stand up and scream in theaters where I live all the time.
Mostly its about wanting their money back since most movies today suck for the price.

Amen. And Hollywierd has yet to figure that out.

There seems to be an extreme shortage of little men in white jackets.

Crap, so all this Dude did was hold up a lighter and yell "FIRE' in the theater.
Lets all adopt a Terrorist. This Dude sounds like a good mark.
So lets knock on his door and demand he turn over 30% of his pay check to help feed, cloth and house these Terrorists. Take his TV and all computers and electronics to aid a creepy in their prison cell.
Take all the kids video games as the prisoner has a right to these things---the kids only have a right to what you can give them. But, the kids learn is they have to share their stuff never to be seen again.
Interesting a 4 year old kid is expected to share their beloved belongings, then the 34 year old father refuses to lend a neighbor his car.
Such fun, There are so many questions on life in general.
Happy New Year, more of the same-O, Same-O
YUP, 2010 and still crazy after all these years.

The fact that she's on the Island at all is a reinforcing argument for that assertion.

Maybe in physical features but beyond that the vacant, yet angry and arrogant look in her expression.

The last movie I've seen in the theater was "An American Carol"....
I usually go to the movies about 1 or 2 times a year....

I have not read the entire thread, but after reading the first page it just made me sick.
I served with the United States Marines, worked in military intel via the NIS and also served as a civilian contractor. My service began under Clinton and ran until Bush. I was in the heat before the real heat hit in 01. I aided and worked with special forces and still have long standing close friendships in places all over and some of the closest are from the Philippines that include two congressmen and the under secretary of defense there.
Yet when I hear the swine of this world say they "support the troops" but yet oppose the war... I wish i could spit on them. Anytime I hear someone say they "support the troops" I like to snap back, "So what have you done for them lately?". There is a great difference between running a mouth and actually doing something. Even if its only sitting up late at night talking to them via forums while they are in Iraq and so forth, a comforting word via the internet is better than nothing at all. Most people cannot even sacrifice a little time for something as simple as that.

Thank you for your service.
I donate time and support locally here in B.F. mid-valley Oregon but I would really appreciate it if you can let me know of ANY means I can use to directly support the troops via on-line. Any means - forums, e-mail, Skype, IRC, Usenet - any means.
PM me if you wish.
Thank you!

A lot of service men tend to hand out in weapons forums such as ar15.com or akfiles.com. You can see a lot of what they have to say about various things ranging from events down to quality of equipment and so on. There are other places such as official military forums, it just depends on where you feel comfortable fitting in.

I was at a place that Carl knows about--Zack's--maybe an hour-and-a-half ago (as I type this). He's got some sweeeeet Marlins there. Three Guide Guns in .450 Marlin, and 2 in .45-70. A 336 SS, a 1894 SS, and two 336's in .35 Remington. He's a tad pricey, but that's because he's got a mil in liability insurance to keep paying premiums on.

What were they listed at?
Which? The 336's in .35 Remington were $490. Can't remember the SS 336 or the SS 1894. I think the .450 Marlin GGs were $630. I'll PM you with the others . . .

Reason #5,799 for owning a person tazer: Nutty libs screeching in a movie theatre. Not that I would have been in Avatar.............Still, the fantasy is awesome.
