Here's a poll asking Americans if they approve of their government violating its own long-standing laws and treaty commitments in order to commit one of the worst crimes against humanity. Sadly, a majority said 'yes.'

Fifty-eight percent (58%) of U.S. voters say waterboarding and other aggressive interrogation techniques should be used to gain information from the terrorist who attempted to bomb an airliner on Christmas Day.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 30% oppose the use of such techniques, and another 12% are not sure.

but. isn't rasmussen a right wing polling site? whether or not it really reflects the greater population of this country, it's sickening.

2. This is one of the reasons I am tired of being "American".
We are not the best, number one, or some special race. We are just people who happened to be born to parents who live here or travelled here. The "American Dream" is nothing more than a dream. The reality is that we live in one large connected world.. and we should honor and respect one another and help one another achieve together... time for the chest beaters to sit on down.

We are all a product of our environment. However, I always have to laugh like hell when Germany (of all places) is ever portrayed as some sort of moral authority.

That is the complete campfire. DUmmies place the well being of a ****ing terrorist above the lives of possibly hundreds or thousands of innocent people. OTOH Lord Zero does also, so it isn't too surprising.

Another reason we call them DUmmies.
If a city gets nuked tomorrow, they will call for all police procedures to be followed and Miranda rights read to any terrorists involved. They might not even mourn those dead in the nuke attack.

Frank has the best chance at doing that. I honestly don't see how he can study them so closely.

I wish I could remember who said it, but the following (paraphrase) sums it up quite nicely for me:
"The next time 3000 of my fellow citizens are murdered on our soil, I'm going to ask Pelosi, Reid, and every other asshole in person why we couldn't hold some guy's head underwater for 30 seconds."

I find it difficult to believe that any of the passengers that were on that flight disembarked as any kind of Liberal regardless what they were when they first boarded the plane.
Pure sole gripping Terror under those conditions with no where to run or hide, all those people screaming, crying, praying, trapped in their seats with the smoke and that one word BOMB aboard, few of the passengers will take up a partition for Leniency for the poor deluded young man.
This is a particularly nasty crime against nature as hundreds of humans will now have to live with not just health problems from the terror but a mental set that will change their life forever.
Combining the number of passengers on both flights one with the shoe bomber and now the skivvies bomber lets do a poll of them to ask what they think should be done with the creeps.
Get every one of those crazies off to Gitmo, get them far away from our main land, even those born American Citizen should be consided an enemy combatant. Try them by the law of the land they are working for, not the laws of those they are terrorising.
These Dudes will never learn to avoid us when they know that life in our prisons are 100 times easier and more pleasent then just day to day life in their own country.
We have for our survival to keep Gitmo open and if possible expanded. Give this Prison a VERY bad reputation, make it a really bad place to end up in. Keep the storeys so wild no one will believe them. Make a huge sign over the entrance to the prison----------BETTER DEAD THEN GITMO.
Government can call up every board of inquiry it wants to, nothing but a few very low on the totem pole will be called to account. Find them guilty, sentence them, 6 months, later give them full retirement and a new identity.
Put some female ball busting young woman in charge of Gitmo, we know the female of our species can become Wolverines.
What do we owe by the Geneva Convention of care of the captured Enemy. Got to be fed, nothing is said about the menu, just a so called balanced diet to maintain life. [ could be pork stew every day, it is their decision to decide if they wish to starve to death.] A pallet for sleep, perhaps a change of clothing every 5 days, a shower once a week for 5 minutes and no soap.
Nothing is said that I know of about allowing any reading material, radio or T.V., nothing about intellectual congress between prisoners.
One can send MEN into battle to shoot-em-up, but it is in this war the woman that can strike extreme fear into the heart of these weenies that pass out dead cold it told that they had to place their thumb in Menstrual blood.
From what I have noticed in studying history is the American Indian male, went on the hunt, captured slaves and turned them over to the woman for their amusement.
Public hanging, wow imagine the ratings for that show.
