This is part of a larger story over on BewsBusters.org that I was reading about Dodd getting heckled by someone off camera while conducting an interview on WTNH. After the incident...the reporter continues and that is when Dodd lays on one of the most blatant bald faced lies I've seen from a Congressman lately.

The news station, WTNH Channel 8 of New Haven, did penance for their coverage of the heckler by smoothly making the transition to a more popular legislator in Connecticut:
REPORTER: And it is clear that for him, this battle was bittersweet.
DODD: Look, I'm an accidental participant, had it not been for the illness and death of Senator Kennedy, I'd been a vote on the bill and a vote on the committee.
REPORTER: Dodd says immediately after it passed, he went to visit Kennedy’s grave.
He says he knows the Massachusetts Democrat would have wanted more. The Senate version does not include a public option. But because he was a great legislator, Kennedy would have appreciated pushing it through.
So they voted @0100 in the morning Christmas Eve right?
How does the Senator explain this?

Not saying he didn't lie but I do believe a senior senator could access Arlington after hours without too much trouble.

Not without a lot of people jumping through hoops. The President yes. A Senator...no.
Trust me...it takes a LOT of planning and prior notification for one of these "unplanned" visits.
I'm going to call my friend that runs the ANC public affairs office in the morning to find out for sure.
But I've worked in and around ANC for long enough to have this set off my stink meter big time.

I was wondering how much work it would be... and assume there is a very detailed record of who goes in and out after hours. Should be easy to prove this fact or fiction, I would think.

He needs to be called out on his lie but I doubt that is going to happen with the media unless it is reported on Fox he can continue with his lies
