Just two more days until Christmas everyone!
It is my last day of work until the New Year, very exciting, but it will be very busy. I'm going to have to go through all my cases and leave detailed notes of what needs to be done while I'm gone.
The H-1B Cap for 2010 was finally reached yesterday, 8 months later than the past two years. Huge relief in the office, it cut my work load almost in half! Very nice Christmas present USCIS :-)

Got up reallllly early to go to 7am Mass with the other half. He goes that early most mornings, but usually on Wednesday it's at noon...so I go too. No noon mass today for some reason. I walked in with the Monsignor and told him if God wanted me to like mornings ....He would have started them at 10. He said "Amen!....why do you think they called it the Last Supper?" :lmao: There were 10 people there and Father Al.
I've already finished one report and have 3 more to do this morning. Doing laundry and then baking and cleaning. Tomorrow night is our Christmas dinner...and I think I got everything on my lists yesterday except for fresh flowers to pick up tomorrow.
Not worried about the cooking....just getting all the other stuff done. I realize that no one that is coming will care...but the OCD is kicking in searching for perfection.... :banghead:
I was praying for peace, hope and understanding from M and son the next two days...so that I don't drive them crazy....or kill them because they are driving me crazy... :uhsure:

Ugh. One last day of work, till I am off for 4 days. Why do we have to have a meeting about our stupid departmental goals today? And they make it a lunch meeting, and order in food, like no one had any errands to run?? Sheesh.
Fudge and cookies to make tonight, as well as get the house cleaned up, and make some chili, for tomorrow night's dinner. That way it can keep all night, and get better.
I don't plan on doing anything tomorrow that requires work.
Contemplating not getting an oil change until Sunday.

Only 2 more days!! Is it just me or do you feel this month is flying by way toooo fast??! Sheesh! :thatsright:
However, I think I'm ready...have lots of cookin' to do starting this afternoon and well into tomorrow. But that's okay cause come Christmas day all I have to do is eat!! Lol.
Okay, off to read some threads and post my thoughts for this day. :libssuck: O-)

I work from 1 pm on Christmas till midnight and on Christmas day from 7 am till midnight no rest for me

I saw Santa at the grocery store yesterday. He was driving a yellow Mini and ho-ho-ho'ing at all the wimmins. He was quite the ladies man. :rotf:
I switched tea brands today... bad idea. Bigelow's Early Grey is better than whatever Kroger's generic store brand comes from.

Yeah, it is. Sometimes it is better to spend a little more $$.

Rainy and in the mid 30's today. We're going to venture to Walmart later today. :censored:

Lol. Good luck with that! You may need a few "cold ones" when you get back home.

Took me two hours to get into work this morning - asshole in front of me hit his brakes and I wound up sliding into the median. I'm hoping I win powerball for Christmas, so I can buy myself a boat to anchor off some tropical island and fish for the remainder of my days.

9 this morning, -5 with windchill, high of 25. Snow tonight and tomorrow.
Still "up in the air" as to X-Mas day work, but no final word yet (was promised at noon). The "no news is good news" meme does NOT apply here. I'm of the opinion that if you're going to call me in on X-Mas Day, you better make it worth my while; i.e., 12 hours at double-time-and-a-half.

Might want one or two :cheersmate: before you go too! I went to Sam's late yesterday afternoon and then to Walmart about 7 thinking that it wouldn't be so crowded with kids and crazies....
Whatever could I have been thinking... :thatsright: :thatsright: :thatsright:
Sam's was a zoo....and Walmart was like the inmates had escaped from the insylum!!! Then had to go to Kroger to get the stuff I couldn't find for one reason or the other. By the time I got home ....my birthday evening was over, I was a bitch and had lost my Christmas spirit! And I would have been happy to sit in a corner with a bottle of Stoli Orange... :censored:
However....I do not have to venture into the fray today. :cheerleader: I have just finished 3 reports...gonna relax for a bit and then work on baking and stuff....baking will calm me way way down. :-)
Christmas spirit is back!!!!! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: And we're going out for drinks tonight for my birthday with our best friends, their son and mine. :cheersmate:

It took less than an hour to hit the bank and get through Walmart. Going through the store was hell, but we got lucky and caught a checkout line just as it opened. We won't have to go to a store until at least Monday now. :)

I actually had to make a few passes each through Walmart, Sams Club, Toys Я Us and Office Depot (recon pass, strike pass, damage assessment pass). The crowds were actually much lighter than what I remember from the last couple of years (of course I was somewhat distracted by the accident last year, so I may not have been paying optimal attention levels).
If you want, I could pull a check-out line bouncy out of my ass to entertain us all with...

Will NOT be going anywhere near any stores until at least next weekend.
-
I went to Target over the weekend and was surpised on how quiet and non-crazy it was. I am sure it is crazy now, glad I finished my shopping!
-
Stores I've seen so far (mostly in NYC and on L.I.) have been pretty anemic compared to the last few years - don't look like much of a "recovery" to me.

 stop gloating!!
I have to go to Kroger's or Food City to pick up flowers for my tables...probably first thing in the morning, before it gets crazy and so that I can get them arranged and on my tables.
May also hit Target....just heard Andrea Botchelli and Mary J Blige sing one of my most favorite Christmas songs..."What Child is This?" and it's on Andrea's Christmas CD....just beautiful!!!!! ***sniff***

My knee gave out on me as I was walking to my chair this morning. Not even the first cup of coffee had hit my lips. Since then, my left shoulder has been a wreck and I had to take a pain killer AND a muscle relaxer. I might need one more muscle relaxer shortly because, while the pain has diminished, it's still not gone away. I think I pinched a nerve........ :(

Rest up and get some ice/heat on them....

I had stopped and filled the tank earlier at $2.39/gal, just went to the same convenience store to get cigarettes, price of gas now at $2.65/gal. Merry Christmas travelers.

Wow...I got it the other day for $2.45.....so glad I'm almost on empty... :(

I buy gas so infrequently, I can't remember what the price was. :p I don't have to do a lot of driving anyway.
