Yes, I'm advertising for LOWE's. They, along with some others, done the local guard unit a good deed.
The Fort Mill SC National Guard unit (along with some volunteer members of our local unit) has been in Wisconsin for the past few weeks training for deployment. They got a few days off for Christmas before their deployment....but the government wouldn't pay for their trip home for the holidays. So here's the story of how they're getting home today for a few days with family and friends.

Not mentioned in the story (I think) is the fact that one man, his son and later this year, his daughter will all be serving over there. Now if that don't make Momma worry, nothing will.

Many folks don't know it, but Lowes also offers a 10% discount to veterans. I know folks that carry a copy of their DD-214 to Lowes to prove they are a veteran.

Wow, I'll have to tell my dad about that one. We recently had a Lowe's built not to far away, but I don't think any of us have really gone there yet.

I like Lowe's and Home Depot...both of which are pretty supportive of the troops.
I know the Home Depot in Key West hires a lot of Navy personnel for part time jobs.....they do have some fine lookin' men in that store! :naughty:
I tend to shop more at Lowe's here, just because they are more helpful....

They do, and also take active and reserve IDs for the discount.

You also have to ask for the discount, they won't ask you unless it's around Veterans day. It's good for any member of the Military active or retired just bring anything with you that shows you serve/d.
