Title: Monday Night Football Question
Post by: GOBUCKS on December 21, 2009, 07:42:51 PM
Does the league forbid on-camera play-by-play and color announcers from using the term "NFL"? It's almost never used. For decades, they have used over and over, dozens of times per game, the tiresome, longer name "National Football League". Since on TV they never say NFL, and in real life you never hear it referred to by any other term, I assume the league has made it a secret rule for on-camera language.

Hmmm....I disagree and you must be mis-hearing.  Or just missing them saying it.
