Robert Byrd's Death Seemingly Prayed For By Tom Coburn

"On Sunday afternoon, Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) appeared to pray for Robert Byrd's death so that health care reform would not pass. Dana Milbank reports at the Washington Post:

"At 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon -- nine hours before the 1 a.m. vote that would effectively clinch the legislation's passage -- Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) went to the Senate floor to propose a prayer. "What the American people ought to pray is that somebody can't make the vote tonight," he said. "That's what they ought to pray."

"It was difficult to escape the conclusion that Coburn was referring to the 92-year-old, wheelchair-bound Sen. Robert Byrd (D-W.V.) who has been in and out of hospitals and lay at home ailing. It would not be easy for Byrd to get out of bed in the wee hours with deep snow on the ground and ice on the roads -- but without his vote, Democrats wouldn't have the 60 they needed."

Two things you  :censored: DUmmie.  First, who the **** scheduled the vote at 1 a.m. , anyway?  I'm pretty sure that crap is handled by the senate president.
Second, DC just had a massive snowfall, so there was hope that many senators would not be able to make it to vote. Oh yeah, I have no wish for Byrd to die, the racist , senile old fart should retire.

1. I detest COburn, but in all fairness, he probably meant Lieberman

(who had gone back to CT for sabbath on Friday)
At least you're closer to the truth. You must be a mole.

5. I don't think he cared which one. All he wanted is his god's intervention

to kill someone, and stop this bill.

No DUmmass, he wanted mother nature to keep them away.

One has to remember that in their delusion of life they think that all the country is clinging to their words so they post this stuff thinking it will affect the body politic.

I on the other hand wish all the country really was reading their words daily as it would guarantee a dem minority for decades.

If it was true, which is ridiculous, I'd say it was a prudent thing for which to pray.  No one tells God what to do.  All we mortals can do is express our desires and fears to God.  Praying for Byrd's death in order to stop this creepy socialism is not a shameful thing.  It's honest.

If it actually worked for people to pray for Senators to have fatal heart attacks, the DUmmies would be first in line at the church, if they could remember where one was, anyway.

Not that the sidewalk behind them would be empty either, of course, ultimately there'd be a whole lot of empty seats in that chamber.  It does seem to be the only way most of them can finally figure out that it's time move over and make way for new blood.

I've go it! Lets put forth a bill, if you stay beyond 2 terms, after the 3rd, it's "curtains"!

Well I can dream, can't I? My idea of term limits!

So the DUmmies get all outraged about things that Sen. Coburn didn't say...and yet lose their collective tongues over something far worse that one of their own...Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.)...spouts out from the Senate Floor.

Quote
They [the GOP] are desperate to break this president. They have ardent supporters who are nearly hysterical at the very election of President Barack Obama. The birthers, the fanatics, the people running around in right-wing militia and Aryan support groups, it is unbearable to them that President Barack Obama should exist. That is one powerful reason. It is not the only one."

Well, I don't think Coburn had anything of the sort in mind, so let me do it:  notwithstanding that I will spend a substantially greater time in purgatory, I pray for God to take Senator Byrd home before he can vote to destroy the United States.

Ike Skelton is another one that's in almost as bad a condition as Byrd.  He looks like he's just one step ahead of the Reaper every time I see him.

It's amazing how frail these Congress Critters look when you see them in person and not on C-Span.

After the vote last night, I was hoping for an overnight visitation of Biblical proportions upon all who voted Yea....  :evillaugh:

btw, didn't they have a midwestern senator who was in a coma? What happened to that guy? Did he wake up?

You're thinking of Tim Johnson of South Dakota.  He got elected to a 3rd term last year and has since recovered from being at death's door.

A lot of these guys are squarely in heart-attack country, and they're currently overworked.  I freely admit to saying my prayers.  Call them home, Lord.  Save our country.
