Post by: Ladywinter on December 20, 2009, 06:04:08 PM
Hi,

I am a California conservative, and The Conservative Cave looks like an interesting (and fun) place to hang...

I look forward to meeting you and sharing my thoughts with you.

Welcome aboard. I've been here all of a week so I'm pretty new, too. Nice to see some CA conservatives. What part of CA?

So I guess that makes us both newbies - welcome SVPete.

I started in Southern Ca. (born and raised).  Now living in Northern Ca., farming community by the Sacramento River.  Needed to get out of the "rat race" and onto some acreage!

Great country! I was born in and grew up near Woodland (not Woodland Hills, which is in SoCal).

All be darn, SVPete.  Yes, Woodland is about 1 hour south of me and a very nice town.  And...I remember Woodland Hills (So. Ca.) too.  I've probably traveled in or through most all of California - I know this state very well!  Lol.

SVPete, are you still in Ca.?

Welcome LadyWinter, from another Californian :-)  There are several of us here.  I'm down in the SF Bay Area (southern part of it).

Hi - Celtic Rose (very pretty user name).

I have friends in Sausalito; spent time over there this past summer.  Took lots of pictures of the Bay and the Pacific...I love the ocean.

Ah, somewhat near Red Bluff ... nice warm place,  :-) . Lots of rice grown around there, IIRC. Did that court steal your water, too, or "just" SoCal farmers' water?

The "SV" in SVPete refers to Silicon Valley; I live in San Jose.

I'm smack dab in the middle (between Woodland and Red Bluff).  Actually, Red Bluff is about 2 hours north of me.  No, the water supply is okay for our local farmers, but who I really feel bad for is the San Joaquin Valley folks.  No water, and no help from our state leadership...the Delta smelt issue.

Have they asked you about peach cobbler yet, and are you now, or have you ever been a  man?

It's his way of being friendly.  If he charges you, try to make yourself look as big as possible and yell.

If that doesn't work, you'll probably need a stick or something.

Friendly?  Should I be worried, or should I just chalk this up to being...  :lame:

Too late, coach--dutch has already made an appearance.

Lady, just remember, dutch's purpose is to sniff other's asses, scoot on the carpet, and hump your leg.  When he does that, just hit him with the newspaper.  Aside from that, he's pretty much harmless.

Yeah, the leg humping thing is especially problematic. I've seen him leave stains.

Just so long as it doesn`t drive someone away thinking they are not welcome or mean there needs to be an "ignore the stupid" disclaimer on every introduction thread.

quite refreshing to see that there actually conservatives outside of my own little central valley. i'm pretty glad to be stuck in such a conservative area, it makes field trips to places like San Fran feel more like trips to zoos.

CA's survival seems an open question to this CAian. Our D Party has the hand basket's accelerator pedal stuck pedal-to-the--errr-wicker. And a significant part of CA Rs seem focused on tweaking the shape and speed of the hand basket.

Which part of the Central Valley? The half that has water? Or the part going through a court-ordered "drought"?

If the politicians had any sense at all that would have stopped hiring and spending like crazy
