Good Luck Enforcing Mandated Insurance...
Forget the fact that I'm against mandated insurance, and will refuse to purchase it...I'm not sure how in the hell the Federal Government, or any other entity for that matter, could enforce it. It's one thing to have the law on the books, it's another to actually enforce it, and the logistics of it will be an absolute ****ing nightmare IMHO. Don't say the IRS because they can't enforce the tax code we have now, much less enforce a private insurance mandate.
Who or what entity would be the party harmed if one chooses not to purchase? The Federal Govt. can't claim harm because they're not the insurer...an individual insurance company can't claim harm, because who is to say which company an individual would choose to purchase from? And how in the hell would they know who has insurance or not?
Only thing I can think of - and I'm giving too much credit here - is maybe the plan is to **** things up so badly that even conservatives will be clamoring for a Single-Payer system just to avoid the complication and the hassle.

Hey DUmmie, last I heard , the IRS will be the agency responsible for enforcing mandated insurance. Good luck avoiding them unless you are unemployed. Oh wait, never mind, don't worry about it.

1. Insurance is Mandated in Germany. Nobody goes bankrupt.
It works in other countries, also. Health Reform Without a Public Plan: The German Model. This is close to what we are trying to do.
Good little Kool-Aid drinker, already finding ways to support this ClusterF**k of a bill.

2. This isn't Germany...

and no way in hell will that enforcement mechanism fly constitutionally in the United States, much less with the people...the abortion issue alone will **** that up.
Since when have DUmmies been concerned with Constitutionality? Lord Zero sure isn't worried about it, neither is Reid or Pelosi.

15. No, it isn't Germany. It is a system that works very well in other countries..
and somewhat well in Massachusets. It provides universal or near universal health care coverage and nobody goes bankrupt due to catastrophic health issues.
Finally, is the system that will pass.
Yeah about it working in Assholachussettes, better check that again.
It's a small bonfire, but it illustrates how far some DUmmies have their head up their ass for Lord Zero.

Germany's population a tad over 82 million.
US population, 307MILLION, that's a bit of a difference...

The German constitution is not written the way ours is either. Govt has more power and authority. Were is the constitutionality of forcing citizes to pay for insurance? And for you idiotic moonbat primitives, health insurance CANNOT BE EQUATED with car insurance.
-
Also, a state that is not otherwise limited by its own constitution certainly can mandate that its citizens/residents purchase health insurance because under the U.S. Constitution the states retained all of the so-called general police powers (i.e., powers to provide for the welfare of the people within the state's jurisdiction) that were not specifically denied to the states by the Constitution itself. On the other hand, the federal government possesses absolutely no powers not granted to it by the Constitution, and in particular possesses no general police power (i.e., it cannot simply regulate for the general welfare of the people if the regulation in question does not fit within one of the enumerated powers).
As such, since there is no enumerated power that would permit the Congress to mandate that individuals purchase health insurance, and further, since such a mandate would be an unapportioned head, or capitation, tax and therefore affirmatively prohibited by the Constitution, the so-called individual mandate the Democrats wish to impose for the purpose of controlling all of us is unconstitutional, period.

Two word, you ignoramus: "Income withholding." The same mechanism they use to get FICA, unemployment, and the vast bulk of personal income tax revenues paid to them. Don't have a job now? Well, you will at some point, or whoever is supporting you will. And the IRS has a very long memory for anything they see as an outstanding debt.
Your pathetic and futile gesture of verbal defiance amuses the Lords of Taxation.

It dont for me but everyother link i have hit today does, so I guess I am SOL.

That is strange, 'cause the link loaded for me, too, without a problem. Is it possible you've got a firewall that can't stand DU anymore?
Just to repost the obvious, here's the link again (I put it in a "code" block just in case the url was getting cut short when rendered as a hyperlink): http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x7249838
