Oh my.

During this Season of joy and goodwill, one always pauses to remember those less fortunate than oneself.

I thought about Pedro Picasso, and found this, buried in the archives--caveat, this is an ancient bonfire, not a current one.

GOOGLE took my money, said NO to LIBERAL ADS....

Check this out...I just got the e-mail. Look at these "offensive" ads they banned...

Of course, they've taken my cash. Last month, too. Goddammit I am pissed. I am SOOOO sorry I helped contribute to their success in any way.

I had an exception return rate...hovering on a 7% click-through rate, which is extremely good, marketing wise, and "strong" by Google's own guidelines. I guess that was the problem. They'll take my money, but they don't want me to actually attract any attention.

BTW, they said I should edit the ads to remove the offending content and resubmit them "and we're sure you'll see increased traffic." If it gets much better, I'd be THRILLED...eliminating all reference to what I sell doesn't seem to be the way to go about that.

5. They are a couple of Silicon Valley boys that 'done good'

They appear to be quite legit and upstanding - I wonder why all this sh*t is going down?

Perhaps those at the top need to more directly oversee what is taking place below?

2. Their office is a few miles from my house in Los Altos. I would be happy to help. Anyone on board in the Silicon Valley? I am a reputable person in certain circles out here, and could possibly help.

11. They haven't mentioned refund.

They don't charge my credit card until the first of the month. I may well stop the billing before that.

6. Aside from them being assholes, here's a thought

Revise one of them to remove the word Liberal. e.g.

1st Amendment Shoppe
Funny, creative, thought-provoking
shirts, hats, stickers and more!

I know it's a compromise... but it would attract non-liberals who don't know the nature of the site, and might edumacate a few people.

Just a thought. Still sucks that they're doing this.

12. I had HALF the sales without liberal

You only pay PER CLICK with AdWords. They urge you to be specific in your ad. When it was just POLITICAL, I had to pay even when republicans visited and then sent me hate mail.

7. don't let 'em get away with it

Just contacted a friend who passed this along:

1) it is allowable for the URL displayed under the ad to go to a site with a different URL - I am doing it now

2) they have odd capitalization rules, but only the first one could be violating them

3) it's illegal for them to refuse to run advertising based on political content. The guy should find a lawyer and threaten to sue, or at least talk to them on the phone and tell them that

She also said - I've had content issues with them before and as soon as I go over the heads of the auto-droids they back off. It's just some worker in their compliance department who either thinks they're doing what they're supposed to, or has been told to. They should totally be made to back off by the advertiser, they shouldn't be allowed to get away with that.

I'm confused about the boldened area, above.

Isn't google a private company?

8. You're not the first...

I read here a week ago that another person had their content banned from GoogleAdWords.

Seems the Google boys don't like liberal businesses.

But they support the jingoistic, fascist right wing freaks who want to advertise on GoogleAdWords.

9. Just a thought.....

I also use google AdWords for a business. However they can be hard asses when it comes to capitalization.

Is your URL capitalized like that or did you do so to make it stand out?

Try replacing the displayed url you have there with "www.notbannedyet.us "

That may be the problem.

14. The capitalize URL is part of my ID

Look at my site and every post I've every made. It is capitalized a) for readability and b) to exploit the .US extension (instead of it looking like the word us). It is my dba for christ's sake! The cap .US is the only thing I can find that might be a problem with them, but I am not changing it. I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.

16. "1st Amendment Shoppe Censored"

The ACLU should take the case just for the oxymoron headlines they would get. Sue them.

The above's the whole bonfire; no need to burrow for the original.

Google is well known to be liberal, so I'm guessing a violation of the rules is what got the ads banned.  Several right wing blogs have been black listed by Google, and several removed from their own blogging service.

What?

NotBannedYet.us has been banned?

 :lmao:

That alone constitutes false advertising.

The FBI is still "watching" you over that PATRIOT Act violation, TexasToast. These "barriers" to your self-actualizations aren't by "accident" and circumstance.

Maybe if you libs weren't so vulgar, they'd treat you a little more seriously.

I don't mind vulgarity, but be professional when it comes to a business setting.

Sometime between 2004 and now, Pedro Picasso changed it.

It's now notbannedyet.com

What a dumbass... the problem is the capitalization in the URL... He could have solved that problem in like five seconds.
