About time.
-
Is he a speed reader or one that is going to take his time with it?
-
From the clips I heard on Rush, this one appears to be taking her time. Also Jim Demint is joining in on this.
-
I thought it was supposed to take 17 hours, Kay Bailey Hutchison's speaking now?
-
When do they break for Christmas? :rotf:
-
Apparently, Sanders somehow managed to get the amendment withdrawn.
-
According to that article, Reid has another ammendement of 1,000+pages to introduce, that will also need to be read aloud... :rotf: The republicans are sticking it to them good! :-)
-
Then there's the bill itself, and Demint has already said (from what I heard) that he will have it all read as well.
2000+ pages of pure entertainment, mostly from watching the democrats' reactions.
-
I hope the Democrats retaliate later on. And the Republicans retaliate again, so that writing 11,000 page bills to be voted on at midnight becomes impossible ever again.

If a law can't be written on a dozen pages or so, then it's too complicated to be read and understood by most congresscritters.

FIFY.
Interestate highways were like 27 pages, IIRC.
-
Absolutely the bills should be read. I hope it becomes common practice.
-
It seems the DimRats violated senate rules. They allowed Sanders to withdraw his amendment after it was being read. Once the reading is started, it is supposed to be finished without interruption.
-
Wow. It took the Republicans long enough to find their cojones.
-
The problem they have is all the pay offs and trade offs.
Social Security was one page. They could do this in one page too. It is all the side scams that are making this entertaining.
-
And Coburn backs down. Not going to do it.
Bullshit.
