I just got into a car accident today

My roomie and I were looking at a house from the back (the alleyway). When I drove to the end of the driveway, I stopped and waited for traffic, and someone--a nurse, mind you--backed her SUV into the right back wheelwell of my Jeep. We both had to go to the ER to get checked and, even though I didn't feel as if I were hurt right afterwards, we both suffered whiplash. The thing was, I didn't think I was injured until hours after the crash.

The old lady who backed into me admitted fault. I called my insurance company and they told me the lady who hit me already called admitting fault. Then I called their insurance company and made a phone report. Contrary to my prior belief, I did end up hurt and put on muscle relaxants. The ER doc even suggested I get a lawyer.

If I'm off DU, it's because I'll be too knocked cold to do so.

SO, the DUmmie was stopped, and the older lady was backing up?  It sounds like the DUmmie wasn't sure they were hurt until the fault was admitted by the other driver.  I smell insurance fraud.

3. If she has a legit injury due to the fault of another, she should be compensated

for any costs, lost wages and damages.

Legit injury? Not  :censored: likely from the accident she described.

2. Best wishes for a speedy recovery, and feel free to Post Under Medication...

It's not like nobody else ever does!

It's rarer to find a DUmpmonkey posting stone cold sober.

6. I have to fill out an insurance form for the hospital

At least the driver who backed into me gave me her insurance info so they can pay the hospital bill. I didn't think I was hurt, but that was because my adrenaline wouldn't let me feel the pain.

I got put on muscle relaxants to take when I need them. Now my lower back hurts like hell.

And it's getting worse as the dollar signs get bigger, right?

They were hit in the wheel well?  That implies a side collision at the back of the vehicle.  They were in an alley?  I doubt the "offending" vehicle had much velocity.  Whiplash?  I don't think so.

Yeah. A good defense atty. will disprove the claim. Unfortunately it's cheaper to pay the claim than the atty.

By the time this gets to court, I bet she had 14 passengers in the jeep at the time of the accident.

I smell a rat also. This feeble story does not register 1/2 a bong.

That and looking for advice on making the story have less holes, and better ideas for faking injuries?

Call a real lawyer and hear them laugh you off the phone.  Insurance companies have lawyers and fight back real hard these days.

Oh...and....DUmmies lie, they lie all the time.

The only thing DUmmies are better at than spreading bullshit - is being whiny hypochondriacs.

These SOBs would lie even if the truth would save their pencil necks. When it comes to DUers, I'm pretty much in the corner of Aliens's Pvt. Hicks: "We'll take off, nuke the site from orbit."

Hey, Tiger was knocked out cold by rolling an Escalade over a fire hydrant. Consciousness is a fragile commodity.

The car in motion is usually determined guilty by default.  My aunt backed into a vehicle that was idling behind her parked car at the grocery store; unfortunately, she was given a ticket by the officer that showed up at the scene.

I'm thinking Tiger was semi-conscious when he made it to the Escalade....

Wifey was wielding a golf club, remember....   :hammer:

"Toots" got T-boned a coupla months ago. (amazing y'all never heard about it, more amazing is none of us bring much of our personal lives onto the internet, ain't it?)Totaled our '93 Subaru. She didn't think she was hurt either, but later her shoulder and back stiffened up to the point I made her go see the Doc. Turns out it shoved her spine sideways. Not good! Lots of physical therapy. Of course the guy was doing a little more than 2 MPH. Idiot was trying to beat the traffic across the intersection and never even saw her until he smacked her.

Wasn't all bad, I ended up buying the Sub back for $100. I'm driving it back and forth to work. Beats the hell out of driving my 3500 Ford Diesel every day! Hell it gets nearly 30 MPH! My truck, 14! Oh, I bought her a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Grand Loredo. I'm think'in I got the raw end of the deal. Lol!

Y'all  missed the point. Even at 2 MPH, big evil SUV's are killers and should be banned.[/DUmmy mode off]

Several years ago, I had a brand new 1998 Grand Cherokee Ltd. Backed out of the garage into M's brand new Cadillac - not the boat one, but kind of a sporty 2 door.

I wasn't used to the Jeep, it was a side entry garage with a slight slope to it. He had been parking his car in the same spot for 4 YEARS. I had just kissed him goodbye and went out to the garage to go to the grocery. I did look in the rear view mirror....but his car was just low enough that I couldn't see it.

My garage was a bitch to back out of because of the orientation of the drive, garage, and the steep slope on the far edge of the drive. (I had Douglas firs planted along the edge so I knew where the edge was because my depth perception sucks  :banghead:) I always backed out of the garage very slowly.

What I did to that Cadillac was so not pretty.....not only did I MOVE the rear end....I totally trashed the rear quarter panel.  :bawl: :bawl: :bawl:

There was absolutely no damage to the Jeep.

I went into the house just sobbing.....and my wonderful sweet of heart was only concerned about whether or not I was hurt. He said it was only a car and easy to fix.

Back in the days with the ex....I came home with a dime size dent in the BMW where apparently a grocery cart had hit it....he was livid. I didn't even know it until he went ballistic.... :censored:

My Murano has a screen above the radio connected to a camera at the back of my car. It activates whenever I put the car in reverse.... :-)

Your Ford only gets 14 MPG?  Mine's a 1988 F-250 diesel with a 5-speed, and it gets 20.  (Right now, it gets 0, because after 21 years and 220,000 miles, it blew a head gasket.  Need to get the fuel injector pump rebuilt anyway.  DAMNED ULSD FUEL!!!!!!)

My wife's 2002 Jeep Cherokee gets between 20-23 on the highway, and about 16 in town.  It's got the 4.0L inline 6.  Runs good with lots of torque....
