So my brother turns 40 next April and his wife wants to do something special...She asked me if I would join them in Vegas for a week. At first, I jumped at the invitation...I've been there twice, and last time was over 8 years ago and I have been itching to get back.
Only thing is...my daughter will be 10 months and I want to take her with me....has Vegas become more child friendly?? or Should I say thank you and decline? The thought of taking formula, baby food, stroller and all the other work associated with taking care of an infant might make this a stupid idea. I won't be able to sit in the casino (not that I really enjoy gambling), can't really take her to the shows...her bed time is 8:30pm...(I guess she can sleep through the shows)
If any of you have been to Vegas and can recommend hotesl that are more family friendly?? I know Bellagio won't allow strollers even near their casinos... :(

I don't drink much anymore...but wouldn't mind a good babysitter while I go see a Cirque show.

I meant loaded as in rich. Call the hotel and find out if they offer it, and how much they charge.

Alternatively, do you have a babysitter that you really trust. When I was in high school, my friend went on several trips as a babysitter. They basically paid her travel expenses and whatever price they agreed on, and she would sit with the kids while the parents did their thing. Granted, they usually went on more family friendly trips, like disneyland, so she enjoyed herself too, but it would be decent money for a really trustworthy teenager.

Call your mother first and ask her if she would like her granddaughter for a week....or cut your trip shorter than your brother and his wife.
If not, it would probably be cheaper to take your babysitter with you, than to use the hotel babysitter services. Not only that....you would probably be more comfortable with someone you knew than a stranger.
I only used a "service" once with my kids. We were on a Disney cruise and left them in Pluto's Playhouse while docked in Nassau and went to the casino. My kids were 8 and 10 and even though I knew they would be safe, I worried about them the whole time.
I never left my kids with family as the family was half a country away. I did have one of my ex's secretaries stay with them. Worked out great. She was in her 20's, the kids loved her, and I knew I could trust her because she was not about to do something stupid and jeopardize her job.
My daughter nannied for 3 different families while in college. She loved it....they loved her, and she made terrific money doing it!

I wouldn't suggest taking a baby to Las Vegas. There are alot of family friendly things to do in Las Vegas, but no matter where you go, I think you might find your choices limited with a child so young. It would be hard taking a baby to Disney World, let alone Las Vegas. Little ones are simply alot of work & need alot of attention.
If you do end up going on the trip, I could send my mom to Las Vegas to watch the baby for you one night while you catch a show.

I don't know if I would be comfortable a total staranger in my hotel room with my baby. Switch off with someone you trust and hope they have a watch because there is no clocks in the casenos and bring plenty of books, no TVs in the hotel rooms either.

I doubt the Bunny Rabbit Ranch is a good place for kids, too much lunch opportunities.

Well I called Treasure Island and asked if I could bring an infant to their show, Mystere ( a Cirque production) and they said YES! :cheerleader: My sister in law and I will probably do mostly shopping and hotel hopping..my brother is really the only one who likes to sit at the tables...so I think we will be fine... TI is next to Ceasar's, in the center of the strip so everything is within walking distance. I asked my mom but she said a big NO...(too much walking for her as she has a bad back)
So I asked for the time off from my job and I expect no problems...so we're good to go! :-)

Well, TI ain't exactly "next to" Caesar's. However, you can take the tram from TI to the Mirage and then walk down towards the Forum Shops.
Still, it's about a 15-20 minute walk.

Have fun in Vegas - I've been there once for a conference... they put me in a retirement community. I kid you not.

Trams are fun. I rode the one at DIA for about two hours to kill time on a huge layover I had.
