6. Even Die-Hard Dems are complaing about Pelosie's Stimulous Package
All I've been hearing is "Where are the Jobs" and "What a ****ing Waste of Money"
only 11% for Badly needed infastructure was a serious mistake that is going to cost the Dems.

26. Never have heard of ANY real democrat crabbing about "Pelosie's Stimulous Package"
One of the oddest posts I've seen in a long time.

28. I'm guessing the average American voter who doesn't spend their days on political message boards
The guy who comes home at night, watches 10 minutes of news, doesn't understand or care to understand the minutiae of public policy. You know, most of them. If we don't see some real results for workers or some bold moves that look like our administration 'gets it' about the average guy we will be killed in the next elections.
I hope I'm wrong but Americans are notorious for punishing the party in power when their lives suck.

5. double-digit unemployment is NOT a good thing
photo-ops and war escalation are not the solution . . . we need some REAL job-creation
where are those shovel-ready jobs? There was the single bridge in Mo -that is all I remember.

32. Wasn't one of the selling points of stimulus to keep unemployment rate under 8-9%. Pelosi screw up big time in her priorities for stimulus spending.

21. The stimulus money caught the states off guard.
There were many improvement projects put on the back burner by the states as all the Fed money dried up under the Bush regime.
So, estimations and projections weren't being done by the states, as that costs money, and they were only funding projects that were in dire need, or on an emergency basis.
Not too many 'shovel-ready' projects or improvements were past the study stage, as there was no money to fund them anyway. The few you see now were probably on the 'need-to-do' list.
The Fed didn't want the stimulus money being spent willy-nilly, haphazardly, or getting in the pockets of cronies of the various governors, so they demanded accountability from the states for their projects.
They are scrambling to put together good cost estimates and realistic schedules just as fast as they can to present to the federal government
Look to the second quarter for that stimulus money to really hit the states.
Dirt is gonna fly.
I think I'm going to hate "Orange Barrel" season this year.

9. It actually means nothing when you read the report
However, I doubt the freepers are trying to break down the report but are focusing on the nonsense U3 number.

24. Not one of them is happy with the good employment news.
When there's bad news, they jump all over Obama. When there's good news, they go off the deep end. Just read the posts!
(a) It's not true.
(b) The number was lower under bush and people complained.
(c) The improvement is all government jobs.
(d) It doesn't matter.
And then they wonder why Obama doesn't just "show us his birth certificate".

25. Pols here in PA are saying the stimulus is having real, positive effect that's just beginning to show up. There are enough public works projects and repairs needed here to keep contractors busy for decades - after decades of neglect.
Also showing up in the green areas - the numbers are slowly starting to turn back. Of course it all doesn't happen immediately, but is it starting to make its presence felt - and much of the stimulus is supposed to be released in 2010...I expect the GOPers - and sadly, some Dems - will be whining even more next year, when that election is coming up.....

27. The Republican Party And Their Sefl-Proclaimed "Conservative" Supporters
Are in for a big surprise when Obama's plans start manifesting themselves positively in a next year or two and they find themselves REELING yet again in the public eye.
Boy I can't wait.
Oh, I dunno. We'll see.

DUmmie projection is fun! :-)

If I was a betting man, I'd put money on the good possibility that in the next 12 months we'll see more and more MSM news stories on how the unemployment levels are 'really' smaller than projected, based on numbers of jobs 'saved' and other nonsense factors.
-
You know, for the kind of money they threw away we could have created some real jobs......like open some iron ore mines and steel mills with the most modern of equipment.....and that alone would have created a couple million jobs for environmental activist and lawyers.....wouldn't have made even a single piece of barbed wire but it would have stimulated the damn DUmmie idiots.
-
Still more jobs lost, that's what matters. If unemployment was 10.2% and more jobs were lost, that doesn't make the real unemployment 10% (except in DUmmie math).
The unemployment offices were closed half of last week, which of course they don't even take into account.
And whatever happened to the “Thats only because people stopped looking for work†talking point we heard during the 5% unemployment Bush years??
This continual lying to themselves will eventually catch up with them like it always does, and then we get to watch them tell more lies to themselves to explain the lies they already believed.

When unemployment is brought up the primitives stick their fingers in their ears and sing "la la la la la la it's booooooosssssssshhhhhssssssss fault!"

Anyone else notice how the DUmmys are calling it "Pelosi's Stimulous Package" instead of who is really at fault for hamstringing the economy?

Given she has teh power to stifle all debate, I'd agree that it's mostly her stimulous package... Wasn't even written by Congress. Pretty sure even Pelosi had no idea what was in the bill.

I say let them but then again the boneheads in her district will still support her ass come election time. :banghead:
