Latest polls in Connecticut and Ohio spell trouble for Democrats
Two new Quinnipiac University polls released Thursday in Ohio and Connecticut provided sobering news for Senate Democrats.
In Connecticut, Sen. Chris Dodd (D), whose numbers experienced something of a resurgence over the summer, trailed former Rep. Rob Simmons (R) by double digits in the latest Q poll.
Even against virtual unknowns like former World Wrestling Entertainment CEO Linda McMahon, state Sen. Sam Caliguri and former ambassador Tom Foley, Dodd is in a statistical dead heat -- evidence that Connecticut voters are looking for any alternative to the incumbent.
Need more evidence? Just 40 percent approve of the job Dodd is doing in Congress while just 39 percent say he deserves re-election next fall. Not good. At all.

8. We need to change the trade agreements as well as our tax laws
We should be rewarding companies that employ Americans and pay taxes in our country. We don't have to punish anyone else. But American products should be, after taxes, sold at the same prices as those from other countries. Now that would be fair free trade.

7. Time for Dodd to step down & let Dick Blumenthal take his place
Blumenthal would win handily against any Republican save Jodi Rell.

14. You can't blame "The Democrats" for Dodd's mess.
He's done it all to himself. People here are just tired of him, and his position on the bonuses to AIG pretty much was the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back.

17. Truman was correct: "Given the choice between a Republican, and a Democrat who acts like a Republican, the people will vote for the Republican every time."
Unfortunately, the Center/Right [sic] Obama Administration has pretty much tarred the entire Democratic Party as being not much different than Republicans. Escalating the WAR in Afghanistan against the wishes of The MAJORITY of Americans isn't going to help.
It is a pity after the nation gave the Democrats a HUGE mandate for "CHANGE". Some Democrats in certain areas could get better mileage in the next election by campaigning on OPPOSING the Centrist [sic] (1/2 Republican) Obama Administration.
Seeking "bi-partisan consensus" from Republicans, the Party the people threw out of power, was NOT a good idea.
Instead of "CHANGE", the campaign slogan should have been "Only as much change as the Republicans are comfortable with."

18. Luckily the election is 11 months away and if the economy is showing recovery and jobs are picking up Democratic hopes all over the country will increase. If not, we could be in for a GOP House and drastically reduced Dem majority in Senate.
