I don't know how many of you are aware that Undies had a procedure this morning. He had an angiogram, angioplasty and then stents placed in the arteries in his legs. I have been through this very procedure before when they put stents in my carotid, subclavian and vertebral arteries. I was scared shitless before I went in and I'm sure Undies was too. Your arteries can collapse (my carotid artery did) and cause all kinds of problems. He acted like he wasn't afraid but I know he was. I asked him to have someone notify me after he is out of the woods and I haven't heard anything yet. I will update you all when I find out how he is doing or maybe he will update himself. Just keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He has really been there for me when I needed someone to talk to and I really care about him.

Prayers for our freind.

My uncle died on the operating table after having a stent swap about 2 1/2 years ago. It's a serious procedure. Prayers for Undies up...

Ditto. You've got far more lefties to "educate." :-)

Thanks for the update Beg. I seem to recall when he was in the last hospital stay, that was when I signed up, or started posting right after. That thread showed me how nice y'all were. Prayers up.

Take care, Demonic Underwear; life can be a bitch if you're not around to soothe.

I'm glad you are ok. It's ok to take it easy for a couple of days, but by Monday, it's back to Wal Mart. :-)

The result of my visit to the cath lab yesterday is that my vascular doctor discovered that my arterial path in the groin area is in too bad of shape to allow access to the arteries in my legs. Now the doctor wants to do three surgeries starting with going in at below the abdomen - which he told my wife will be a "serious" as my heart surgery. It's a lot to think about. He wants to do it within the next couple of weeks. I'm not sure yet about the what, when, or where of the other two surgeries
I have to see my cardiologist first. She must "sign-off" on this new mission to seek and conquer. The ultimate "sign-off" must be done by me, myself, and I. Me, myself, and I do not know if we are up for it.
-
Well my friend...you know how it goes...
One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all
Rest up a bit, enjoy the holidays and think about it next year.

Undies I am so sorry that you have to undergo another surgery.
I say "have to" because you have too much life left to live...and too many people who want you around - in their lives - for a very long time.
It's always very hard when the ultimate decision is yours to make....to basically make the decision to inflict a lot of pain and suffering on your body and truthfully...your psyche too.
Top it off, it's Christmas. Not exactly a convenient time for major surgery.
However...the argument could be made that there never is a convenient time for major surgery....and definitely never a time to be told it has to be done.
I do know enough about doctors - particularly those who cut on the body - that this is always a busy time of year for them with people getting elective or less serious stuff done before the end of the year due to their insurance deductibles being paid up by this time. They also prefer to not do unnecessary major surgery during the holidays, as it forces them to be "watching" over the patient more intensely during that time, when many have trips planned or just family time.
If your surgeon is telling you that he wants to do it in within the next couple of weeks...it NEEDS to be done "tout suite"...for your benefit ... not his.
Rally up, my friend....get your appointment for surgery and prepare to conquer...we will keep the prayers going in a constantly upward trail....
You do know that if was a woman getting this diagnosis....she'd be asking if the doctor could do a tummy tuck while he was in there.... :-)
-
Lots of hugs and lots of prayers coming your way, Undies.
You wouldn't have pulled through the heart attacks the way you did if God didn't want you around here on earth for a bit longer.
May you find peace in whatever decision you come to.

All you say is true....and I know these things in my heart. The main "rush" is to do this while my wife is around. She will be leaving - traveling - right after Christmas. She won't be back until the end of March. That's just the way it is in our lives and It has been for years.
So, I wonder if this can wait until the Spring. I have questions. I seek answers.
Like I told them in the lab just yesterday: Ignorance can be cured - but stupid lasts all day.
-
Wowee. I have no doubt that the solution you need to find is somewhere out there just waiting.
Prayers Up.
-
Best of luck, Undies.
-
I sincerely hope you make a full recovery and lead a rewarding life. Take care of yourself fist and foremost.

Oh no! Don't let Ben Burch anywhere near him in his weakened condition!
