Did you see that guy sleeping in the audience?

Edited on Tue Dec-01-09 08:38 PM by sixstrings75
I can't believe it!. I was watching the speech on NBC - it happened around 8:30pm. They panned the audience and one soldier was out cold - sleeping. What a tool.

Sorry if already posted. Just can't believe what I just saw.

3. This is West Point. These young men & women are busting their asses 18 hours a day 6 days a week.

You obviously have no clue how hard the studies are at West Point. For all you know this student has been up for the last 2 days without sleep and now he gets orders to march to a stadium and watch the President when it might have been the only time to catch up on his sleep.

It is also obvious there is almost zero respect for Obama at this speech. Notice the lack of clapping, the look in the faces, and the forced ovations.

6. There were several sleeping...

and also many were not applauding when the president entered.

Now myself, I'll admit, have never watched a obama speech since he became President. I have absolutely no interest in what he has to say. Although, sleeping sounds like a good alternative.

There were several that were sleeping. And a lot that looked like they could hardly stay awake.

These kids have been going probably since about 5 this morning and have 5-6 hours of homework yet to do. I saw a clip at 6:30 and they were all in their seats....90 minutes before Obama was to arrive.

I'm surprised there weren't more asleep.

Not much enthusiasm for the speech either.....little to no emotion on most of their faces.

Wonder if they were told to "school" their faces through the entire speech?

Well, they say "know your audience"...I am thinking the reverse happened in this case.

I would be sleeping if I had to hear him go on and on

They don't look too happy do they? Obama is the tool here, not the cadets.

Well DUHHH!  :hammer:

It's inconceivable to DUmmies that most people in the military have no respect for Obama.

They showed him respect nothing more nothing less. I bet the crowd would have cheered if it was Bush

Bush wouldn't have been condescending.....nor would he have acted like he was an authority on war and battle.

Nor would Bush have stood in front of a huge group of future officers in the Army....and told them that their miltary brothers and sisters were going to be sent into a situation designed to fail....

Playing Battleship does not qualify one for learning strategic battle plans.... :uhsure:

But why? All he wants to do is save their lives by getting them out of a disasterous war!

(After putting in an 18 month fake offensive chewing up young lives so as not to lose his tough-on-defense-street-cred.)

Well, he is a crashing bore, isn't he?  I've tried listening to his speeches in the interest of being "well-informed."  My mind wandered as he droned, the tennis-match head swings became overwhelmingly annoying, and I decided to do some laundry or dishes or something instead.

One British headline read, shortly after inauguration:  "Obama does go on, doesn't he?"

I've never met anyone more in love with the sound of his own voice as Lord Ø obviously is.

I would guess that everybody in a 30 mile radius of The Øne suffer from Narcolepsy after prolonged exposure.

I would think that she is as bad as he, if not worse.

That would explain why the kids don't look like him. Come to think of it, they don't look like each other either.

Of course.  The media Ministry of Troof know what kind of doubleplusungood stuff Big Brøtha would do to them if they failed him.

Every single Vet and current military enlister, emphasis on "enlister" for our DUmbass lurkers, I know, can't stand this prick! Bush on the other hand was one of them, in their opinion. Their opinion means everything to me!

Hmmmmm......wonder why they were falling asleep?

Not only falling asleep, one was reading a book entitled "Kill Bin Laden" and another was reading another book about Iraq, I forget the title. They were boldly holding them up so the titles could be seen, LOL.

I noticed the CIB on the tunic of the cadet reading Kill Bin Laden.  Must have been to the sandbox . . .

Ok just making sure.  I know that in the summer the Cadets can go to different schools Ranger...Airborne etc.  That Cadet is obviously prior service.

Which means he'll be smarter than your average Butter bar graduate of Hudson High School for Boys (and girls). :-)

I didn't want to mention the ARCOM ribbon right under the CIB, but you're right--he's obviously prior service.  And when he finally gets his butter bar, he'll command a fair amount more respect (I added this for those who would see this, who haven't served in the armed forces) than, say, I did, straight out of college (but I knew to listen to my NCOs).
