2. The irony is that one of wealth sources of the swiss
Edited on Sun Nov-29-09 10:41 AM by Capt_Nemo
is the money that the Middle Eastern royal families spend/invest/deposit in Switzerland,
among them the self-styled keepers of the islamic faith: the House of Saud.
I go often to Geneva, for work reasons, and you can always see some of the princes' jets parked in the airport and their
Rollers and Bentleys parked at the door of luxury hotels near the lake.
Maybe the swiss should be more careful about pissing off these guys...

44. The real irony is that in a secular society all religions should be treated equally.
What if they banned the Star of David? It's only a symbol.
I understand them wanting to protect their architectural heritage but there are more sensible ways to do that.
Yeah, I really hate seeing those Star of Davids towering over every building around it.

3. Passed by 59%. The hate is rising.
Sadly, I think that anti-Muslim hate will continue to rise all across Europe until it explodes. Combined with the global recession it is providing fertile ground for demagogues.

10. Not agreeing or disagreeing with the ban
but kind of ironic that passing a law within their own country makes them a target for fanatics outside their country.
Ironic? Not when the ROP is involved.

Right down to the reservations/concentration camps.

don't even get me started on americas role in the crusades (can you say oil profits?).
Hey DUmmie, that was sarcasm, wasn't it? We can never be sure when it comes to DUmmies hating the US.
Much more stupidity follows.

I go often to Geneva, for work reasons
This is an intriguing sentence. Is this a case of a DUmmy telling two immense lies in one sentence? What possible explanation is there for a DUmmy to visit Geneva, Switzerland? Geneva, New York is even unlikely, since it's in the bright red portion of the state, where drugs are more difficult to score. And what sort of enterprise would pay the airfare and inflated hotel prices to send a DUmmy employee to Switzerland? How many DUmmies, outside the current administration, have jobs that require international travel, unless the DUmmy serves as a "mule"? From what I hear, "mules" don't often travel through Geneva. I believe this is a lying DUmmy braggart, in the greenbriar tradition.

Wait what? I must have slept through that part of history class where they discussed the concentration camps we put the American Indians in.

If this had been a Christian edifice that was banned, the little bastardos would be cheering over how "enlightened" Switzerland was becoming, and there would be much celebration.

Umm, akshully, Hitler was envious of 'progressive' DEMOCRAT Woodrow Wilson and the extra-constitutional iron fist with which he ruled America for 8 years.
...With the intellectuals on their side, Wilson recruited journalist George Creel to become a propaganda minister as head of the newly formed Committee on Public Information (CPI).
Mr. Creel declared that it was his mission to inflame the American public into "one white-hot mass" under the banner of "100 percent Americanism." Fear was a vital tool, he argued, "an important element to be bred in the civilian population."
The CPI printed millions of posters, buttons, pamphlets, that did just that. A typical poster for Liberty Bonds cautioned, "I am Public Opinion. All men fear me!... f you have the money to buy and do not buy, I will make this No Man's Land for you!"...
...Under the Espionage Act of 1917 and the Sedition Act of 1918, Wilson's administration shut down newspapers and magazines at an astounding pace. Indeed, any criticism of the government, even in your own home, could earn you a prison sentence. One man was brought to trial for explaining in his own home why he didn't want to buy Liberty Bonds.
The Wilson administration sanctioned what could be called an American fascisti, the American Protective League. The APL – a quarter million strong at its height, with offices in 600 cities – carried government-issued badges while beating up dissidents and protesters and conducting warrantless searches and interrogations. Even after the war, Wilson refused to release the last of America's political prisoners, leaving it to subsequent Republican administrations to free the anti-war Socialist Eugene V. Debs and others...
...In his 1890 essay, "Leaders of Men," Wilson explained that a "true leader" uses the masses like "tools." He must inflame their passions with little heed for the facts. "Men are as clay in the hands of the consummate leader..."
..."Government," Wilson wrote approvingly in his magnum opus, "The State," "does now whatever experience permits or the times demand." "No doubt," he wrote elsewhere, taking dead aim at the Declaration of Independence, "a lot of nonsense has been talked about the inalienable rights of the individual, and a great deal that was mere vague sentiment and pleasing speculation has been put forward as fundamental principle.."

Uh..DUmmy JonQ was making a sarcastic comment on the kneejerk stupidity of his fellow DUmpmates. He also said something about how every evil event in world history could be traced to the USA.

LOL! and if there ever is (God forbid) a Muslim takeover of this nation...the DUmmies will be left dying in utter confusion as to why they were the first ones to lose their heads.

When Christians start shooting and beheading those that do not agree with them, the DUchebags will be all for that religion.
C-O-W-A-R-D-S that is all.
