SEATTLE — Four police officers were shot dead in an ambush at a Washington state coffee house, a sheriff's official said Sunday.
The attack occurred near McChord Air Force Base in Parkland, Wash.
Pierce County Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer tells Seattle's KOMO-TV that the officers were hit near 116th Street and Steele Street on the east side of the Air Force base at about 8:30 a.m. local time.
Troyer told The News Tribune in Tacoma that the officers were sitting in the coffee shop with their computers when the shooter came in Sunday morning.

I have to wonder why exactly, the writer felt it necessary to say that it was "near" the Air Force base?? The Air Force had nothing to do with these murders, did they?? Why involve them at all?? I recall several murders around the various Navy bases on which I served. They were always described as being in "National City", "Ocean View", "Granby", "Chula Vista" or "San Diego", ALL of which are "near" the Navy bases. Does this reporter have some sort of anti-military bias??

Satalite map shows the place borders the AFB. Salt and pepper assassination team. They could have been mistaken for base personell, or "civilian employees" of the base. I'm thinking that this is islamofascist terrorism most likely.
I'm personally praying they are caught and killed doring capture today.

Remember when police shot dead that imam in Detroit? They went to arrest him, and he pulled out a gun and started shooting-so the cops shot him.

According to my son - who was watching tv with me earlier today when we first heard this.....the coffee shop is a chain all over the area, and this one is right along side of the base. He spent 3.5 yrs out there in the Navy, and knew where this one was as his carrier was in Bremerton for several months for drydock.
They aren't very fond of the military out there, and there are a whole bunch of bases with all 5 services there.

Maurice Clemmons, the 37-year-old Tacoma man being sought for questioning in the killing of four Lakewood police officers this morning, has a long criminal record punctuated by violence, erratic behavior and concerns about his mental health.
Nine years ago, then-Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee granted clemency to Clemmons, commuting his lengthy prison sentence over the protestations of prosecutors.
"This is the day I've been dreading for a long time," Larry Jegley, prosecuting attorney for Arkansas' Pulaski County said Sunday night when informed that Clemmons was being sought in connection to the killings.

Clemmons killed the officers AFTER he was freed on bail.
What gets me is what fool of a judge would endanger children by releasing a guy with a life long history of violent crime? The only answer is a liberal judge.

STATEMENT REGARDING WASHINGTON STATE SLAYINGS

The senseless and savage execution of police officers in Washington State has saddened the nation, and early reports indicate that a person of interest is a repeat offender who once lived in Arkansas and was wanted on outstanding warrants here and in Washington State. The murder of any individual is a profound tragedy, but the murder of a police officer is the worst of all murders in that it is an assault on every citizen and the laws we live within.
Should he be found to be responsible for this horrible tragedy, it will be the result of a series of failures in the criminal justice system in both Arkansas and Washington State. He was recommended for and received a commutation of his original sentence from 1990, this commutation made him parole eligible and he was then paroled by the parole board once they determined he met the conditions at that time. He was arrested later for parole violation and taken back to prison to serve his full term, but prosecutors dropped the charges that would have held him. It appears that he has continued to have a string of criminal and psychotic behavior but was not kept incarcerated by either state. This is a horrible and tragic event and if found and convicted the offender should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. Our thoughts and prayers are and should be with the families of those honorable, brave, and heroic police officers.
