The UN has decided to Censure Iran on their nuclear program. Man, I bet their scared now. The UN, along with the Obama and Brown Administrations, are totally useless.
-
Iran remained defiant, with its chief representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency declaring that his country would resist "pressure, resolutions, sanction(s) and threat of military attack."

Would someone please tell them O won the Nobel Peace prize so they need to be good now.

That'll show them.

The big question is, did they put the censure on 24 lb. paper?
That kinda stuff is really important in the diplomatic world. :whatever:

That's because the heavier bond paper makes it easier for them to wipe their asses with it.

Censure is purely symbolic, though it is a bit of a surprise the Chinese and Russians even signed on for that. The real questions will be:
1. Whether they will remain on board when it comes to talking about actual sanctions (Personally I think not, and their votes on censure are cynical public relations ploys), and
2. Whether any level of sanction that the Security Council can agree upon will actually dissuade the Iranians (Again, I think not, like the Norks, they will screw over their own people and starve or impoverish them as much as it takes to pursue their nuclear weapons program).

I trust they will follow up with a "strongly worded letter".........

Since when does Iran care about Nobel prizes? When a winner speaks out against the their represive and backwards government, that's when.
Iranian authorities have taken human rights lawyer Shirin Ebadi's Nobel Peace Prize medal and diploma from her safe-deposit box in Iran, Norwegian officials charged Thursday.
Officials in Norway, which administers the prize, expressed outrage at the alleged seizure.
"This is the first time a Nobel Peace Prize has been confiscated by national authorities," Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store said in a statement. "The medal and the diploma have been removed from Dr. Ebadi's bank box, together with other personal items. Such an act leaves us feeling shock and disbelief."
Ragnhild Imerslund of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry told The Times in a telephone interview that she didn't have detailed information on the circumstances of the alleged confiscation but that she believed it took place "a week ago or so."
Ebadi was awarded the prize in 2003 for her many years of legal work on behalf of Iranian political activists, religious and ethnic minorities and women and children. She is the first Iranian to win the prize.
