Before and after holidays are great times at the DUmp, especially after. One DUmmy after another will log in with bouncy tales, stories of arguments and fights, walkouts and insults. Holiday dinners at DUmmytown are more fun than a barrel of monkeys. Next week should really be entertaining. A preview:

T-minus 4 days till Turkey Family Fun Fest. What's your poison?
I'm thinking of a flask of rum to mix with with all the sodas that will be around the Puritan's table this Turkey Day.
How are you planning on coping with the family?

1. Drink my ass off and spend as little time around my mother as possible.
Sigh.

4. I'm going to be 600 miles from my family. That's how I'm coping.
DUmmy LiberalEsto is looking at the bright side:

5. By not cooking a Tofurkey
because my older daughter the vegetarian isn't speaking to us. She emailed back to say she's not coming to dinner, so there's no point in my making the ghastly Tofurkey thing. So far, my husband and younger daughter and possibly my brother are still speaking to me.

6. my sister is a vegetarian, and she always simply ate everything but the turkey
it is never really a problem. She is ok with other people's food choices.
As far as dealing with my family, they are all pretty liberal Democrats, so I feel fortunate. I think I would have a hard time with conservative relatives, so I'm glad I don't have any.
DUmmy kids must grow up with some wonderful memories of childhood.

Don't! They this is all self inflicted on their part! Very petty shallow people with very little loyalty to anything but their political party!
-
Yeah, go eat their food and watch while they slave to feed your fat lazy rears and then clean the mess but by all means slag them while they do it. /s

Everything is supposed to be about them and their wants..they can`t cope in a situation where others have to be respected.
I am quite sure most of their families are just as happy they don`t show up.

I can just feel the tolerance oozing out of that thread. ::)

This is just ridiculous. Do they not have anything else in common with their family? There's a world of other topics for crap sakes. My mother was an alcoholic and a self-centered moonbat but I'd love to be able to sit across the table from her on Thanksgiving (she made killer gravy). They're not grateful for anything.

Wow. The primitives sure do hate their families. Maybe the problem is theirs, not the familie's. Primities sure are full of hate.
