Title: Cabela's
Post by: Chris_ on November 22, 2009, 09:59:42 PM
My dad got invited to a VIP event at Cabela's tonight...since he has their credit card and he spends a lot on fishing stuff there.

He could invite immediate family to go. I'm his favorite daughter.

They had free wine. And beer.

And then they offered you a chance to save a lot of money with their Cabela's Visa.

And then they enticed you with 25 percent discounts on stuff you don't need.

And then I possibly left with a new credit card and $100 worth of shit I probably would have said no to when I wasn't happily buzzed.

Those magnificent bastards!

If every store did this, I think the recession would be over.

The key is to make sure that you drink more than what you spend.

Hmmm, I should she what that wine costs. They were full glasses too! They didn't skimp at all. I don't think that was an accident.

I always come out of Bass Pro with $100 worth of stuff I don't need, and I'm stone cold sober.

The nearest Bass Pro is 175 miles west of me.  I make sure to go to it when I'm out in WNY.  Always seem to leave with something I don't necessarily need.

I've never been to Cabelas, but ran across it online.  It looks to have a lot of the same things my favorite place, The Mast Store, has and at lower prices.

It is really worth going to a Cabelas.  Not only do they have everything in the world in that store but they also have a gajillion dead animals and 234423423 gajillion GINORMOUS fish swimming in huge aquariums!  My kids beg to go all of the time but it is a long drive.  We go about once a year.

I just looked it up and it's a tossup as to which one is closest to me:  Wheeling, WV or Gonzales, LA.  Guess I won't be going anytime soon :-(   I'm glad I've been reminded of its on-line presence though since I need a few more Christmas gifts.

Ah, Cabela's and Bass Pro...where my walking-around money goes to die.
