Oh my.
The primitives really need to sit down and think about things.
The primitives are the establishment, in control of the White House, Congress, the Supreme Court, Madison Avenue, the mainstream media, Hollywood, academia.
Other than the superficial impositions of Reagan, Bush, and Bush, and occasional Republican control of one or both houses of Congress, the primitives have been the establishment since circa the late 1970s, and the sun's now setting on them.
Of course, one has to know history, to see that.
Whether the Age of Aquarius ends with a bang or a whimper, is unclear, but it's winding down.

2. if you mean DU, then i would have to say in general nope
sitting at home glaring at a computer screen, or marching and chanting on the street will never scare the establishment... thats what an armed citizenry does...

3. Who are "we"? Liberals? DUers?
Please clarify.
But, whoever "we" are, I sure hope we are dangerous to the establishment!

5. Sure, it's a good question. It would be a better question if you could be more specific.
I just voted "to some extent" because I think most people on DU think for themselves, and that itself is a threat to the establishment.
Get back to me when we storm the white house with pitchforks.

7. You know what man
I'm afraid others with other agendas will storm the WH before we even think to hire a bus.
God, Democrats take a lot of shit.
And we just take it, by and by.
And you know, this isn't even about Democrats, though we seem to be the only ones who even recognize that much of the nation, people - us - really at the core have the same values. Repukes play so unfair.

8. To some extent, because I've heard several references to (paraphrasing) "the Progressives in the blogosphere are unhappy with...". So even though we, as DU, don't send these guys scurrying, our voices are added to those of others and the powers that be are aware of how a segment of 'the base' feels about the issues.

9. We are helpful to the establishment. The establishment likes to be comfortable.
Comfort makes a person, a society numb and unobservant. Those of us who criticize perform an important service -- keeping the establishment aware of pitfalls in the road ahead.
Stupid criticisms, of course, are not helpful. But the average DU contributor is relatively well educated, well informed, intelligent and caring. So our criticisms although sometimes harsh and perhaps difficult for the powers that be to stomach, are very helpful.

11. Most of the criticism is done from the comfort of the glowing computer screen next to a half-eaten bag of cheetos, for both sides of the political spectrum, but especially for the left, sorry to say. The right wingers have been summoned to a psychotic battlefield by the dog-whistle messages for violence against Obama. I sort of wish liberals could be that crazy and extreme.
However, I do believe that being well informed, and spreading information to others is important. In the old days, people had to make do with the Pony Express. We have the internet! There is hope. Just get the masses pissed off enough to do something about it.

10. If by "The Establishment" you mean Corporate Fascist Monopolies, then yes we do
Fascism is the name of the game.
By educating and supporting each other and providing a pool of info, diligent researchers and advocates and resources we pose a serious threat to the evils of the Fourth Reich and its operatives who are treasonous, soulless and lacking in basic humanity (not to mention the fact that they are bloodthirsty greedy necrophilics who glorify the power to inflict suffering and death and who worship mammon above all else)
Yeah - we are a threat to that...

13. how exactly are you a threat, stuff that gets posted on sites such as DU dosent reach a tiny fractio of the population, even amongst those who see it, half does unrecs, guarenteed one lobbyist with $1 million in his pocket is more powerful than all of DU put together. Sitting behind a computer is not what the establishment fears its you standing behind a barricade with a rifle in your hand...

12. Oh good Gawd - like a bunch of anonymous posters - keyboard warriors are going to change the opinions of the corporate controlled establishment in DC. Now, if there was some organization in terms of protests, marches and other forms of outrage that the media may notice, perhaps a few heads would be turned, but not enough to cause a crick in the neck.

Fixed to add proper context of the average DUmmy.
