This is my bosses boss. Plan to attend.
It is an invitation to the GM of the company house for some Christmas thingy. Not the company party but some other party thing. He isn't normally forceful...I kind of like being ordered around. :p

:naughty:

LOL.... I knew you were a submissive one!

I need new glasses. I saw the word emailed as nailed. :evillaugh:

Take off your clothes, lay down and do what the nice medic tells you.

Ignore the fact that his ears are quite large and his nose twitches constantly....

Ah, yes. Mandatory fun. Isn't the corporate world wonderful? When is his company just gonna say screw it, the economy sucks, no parties?

This isn't the "company" party, there is going to be one of those too. This is a party at the GM's house. What does one wear to a "casual" party at a bosses boss party?

Whatever you pick out, it'll be fine.
I'd say a cocktail dress. Pearls. Non-stiletto shoes. A purse that looks like a purse and not like a lunchpail. You know.

Non-stiletto shoes? :hammer:
Stilettos are mandatory with cocktail dresses.
BEG....I'd go with black gabardines or velvet slacks or a black pencil skirt...soft dressy sweater or ruffly blouse in red, deep purple, black or cream, maybe with a satiny camisole underneath...definitely high heels with either the slacks or skirt. Go middle of the road....that way you aren't under or overdressed. If you talk to the wife of the immediate boss....ask her what she is wearing...
Don't know what type of jewelry you prefer....I always wear diamond studs, and I have a diamond pendant that I wear most of the time....as far as I'm concerned...diamonds always are appropriate.

It's Cali. Shorts and a polo if you're a guy.

Stilettos are mandatory with cocktail dresses.
Says who?
Ever hear of shorter heels? Not flat shoes, just shorter heels. Where is it written that stilettos are mandatory with cocktail dresses? :whatever:
Is that one of those rules that Versace made? Hell, deb, he's dead.
I'm no expert on cocktail dresses or stilettos (I look awful in both of them :rotf: ) but I'm not convinced that stilettos are "mandatory."

I'm 5'4" on a real tall day.....
Cocktail dress? I'm wearing a 3-3.5 inch spike heel.
Now, if to you a stiletto is a platform shoe with a 5 inch heel....no, I don't wear those.
Me + platform stiletto = broken neck...

I can't wear any heels right now :bawl: My ankle is still recovering, and anything but a flat shoe makes it hurt like crazy. I miss my pretty shoes :bawl:

I do have platform shoes, I like them over the narrow stiletto for the simple fact that there is more surface area to distribute the weight. I heard about some Kenneth Cole shoes that are designed to be comfy... let me get the link, I think the shoes sound amazing.

You will be in heels in no time, take care of your tootsies.

I've heard the platforms are really comfortable for just the reason you stated. I have some slides that are slight platform ....and they are really comfortable....but me in a platform stiletto....would be sooooo dangerous for me.
I am such a klutz ....I can trip walking barefoot.
The other half has suggested buying me a Pillsbury Dough Boy outfit...

No matter what you choose to wear, you will still look great.
I went to WI for some corporate training for a resturant chain, one of the nights ended with a dinner at the Founder/Owner's house....it was a good time. I made myself at home & they didn't care. His daughter came home from a soccer game, covered in mud...when she came inside the HUGE house I was sitting at the dinning room table and I told her "come on in, are you hungry?" she was like...."this is my house and where are my parents" :rotf:
They had a three legged dog, named Fudge. I was making jokes about the dog. I was one of the few people not drinking. They had a galley off the kitchen full of booze and wine. His wife cooked while he grilled out. Nice folks. http://www.culvers.com/about/default.aspx

Naw, I'm thinking those stiletto shoes elevate the heel up to nosebleed territory, which makes walking for you gals such a dangerous proposition.
What heel length is considered "non-stiletto" length? 1.5 inches? 2 inches? Do heels come in variable lengths like that, or is basically one length fits all?
-
I believe they come in varying lengths. I wouldn't know. I inherited my grandmother's feet early, and cannot tolerate any elevation above half an inch. Curses. :( Just as well. I tend to be very accident prone.

Heels come in all different heights...
Stilettos are what used to be referred to as spike heels....2.5 - 3" or higher.
Mid-heel is 1.5-2.5"
Below 1.5' is a low heel...1/2" is a flat.
-
BEG, I'm thinking if you went in this, you'd be the biggest hit at any backyard party ever:
