Congressman David Obey rebukes administration over inaccurate stimulus job reports
There have been a several stories in recent weeks about the number of stimulus jobs being overstated in reports filed by grant and contract recipients. USA TODAY's Matt Kelley and Brad Heath had one such story on Nov. 3 that showed, for example, how a public housing authority reported creating 450 fulltime jobs with just $26,174 in stimulus funds. In fact, the reporters discovered, only six jobs were created.
These kinds of reporting problems has prompted Rep. David Obey, D-Wis., to issue a rare Democratic rebuke to the administration. Late yesterday, Obey put out a statement "reacting to new reports of inaccuracies on recovery.gov," which is the website maintained by the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board.
“The inaccuracies on recovery.gov that have come to light are outrageous and the administration owes itself, the Congress, and every American a commitment to work night and day to correct the ludicrous mistakes," Obey said in his statement. “Credibility counts in government and stupid mistakes like this undermine it. We’ve got too many serious problems in this country to let that happen."
.... Obey, who ended his statement with this emphatic demand:
“We designed the Recovery Act to be open and transparent and I expect the the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board, who oversees the recovery act web site and data to have information that is accurate, reliable and understandable to the American public. Whether the numbers are good news or bad news, I want the honest numbers and I want them now.â€

David Obey Slams Obama Administration for Errors in Reporting Stimulus Job Gains
The chairman of the House Appropriations Committee slammed the Obama administration Tuesday for "outrageous" errors in data that led to inflated job-creation numbers on recovery.org, the Web site that reports on the president's stimulus program. The Hill reports that, due to "unrealistic" reports from about a dozen federal agencies, the site incorrectly reported more than 600,000 jobs had been saved or created by the stimulus. An ABC News report outlined some of the site's inaccuracies on Monday.
"The inaccuracies on recovery.gov that have come to light are outrageous and the Administration owes itself, the Congress, and every American a commitment to work night and day to correct the ludicrous mistakes," Rep. David Obey (D-Wis.) said in a statement Monday. "Whether the numbers are good news or bad news, I want the honest numbers and I want them now."
Obey was a major player in writing the stimulus bill, and said he was dismayed to see it failing to meet the goal of complete transparency.

1. As usual, Democrats can never wait to eat their own.
Strong Language there.
You would never see a Republican do this. Thats why Democrats are headed back to the minority

2. Sounds like a puke with that language, much like the OP does with his endless campaign to tear the democratic president down.

4. Fact is Obey could have voiced his concerns with the Administration behind closed doors. Not aligning yourself with the Republicans and their hit campaign. Which Democrats do far too much. And in the end it only hurts them.

Biden asks Recovery.gov to fix errors
WASHINGTON, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- U.S. Vice President Joe Biden has asked a government Web site to correct statistics indicating stimulus funds have gone to non-existent congressional districts.
Biden's request came after an ABC News report found errors in Recovery.gov's accounting of hundreds of millions of dollars spent and thousands of jobs created or saved in incorrectly numbered or non-existent congressional districts.
"He thinks it is a relatively small problem involving a small number of jobs that exist, but which were entered into Recovery.gov with the wrong coding and therefore the wrong address," Biden spokesman Jay Carney said in an e-mail to Politico. "He expects the problem will be fixed quickly."

7. Ah, Obey is scrambling for some face time on the teevee
Fox will be glad to had his dumb ass.
Now, why are the primitives being so Hateful towards one of their own?

One would suspect that DUmmies think lies for political gain are good by this.
Couldn`t be as they have screamed for 8 years about supposed lies.

This astounds me, because the congressman from Wisconsin is one of the most flaming radical left-wingers around, and surely enjoys the approval of the primitives.
But I guess if one criticizes Bo, all is forgotten.

Lies (which aren't lies at all) are only the most grievous things one human can inflict upon another human when the "lies" expose the truth about liberalism/socialism/communist/littlegoonism. Otherwise, lies are hunky-dory!

It's a short thread over there, if you go over, it would only take about 15 seconds to read some profound stupidity. One guy even says he trusts Biden the most (he appeared on the Daily Show, dontchaknow). The head-in-the-sand mentality is maddening.
You know, I was wandering around there yesterday, and came across some people pissed off at MSNBC, because they were talking to some Palin fans. In a snit, they went to CNN and reported back actually learning something. I forget what is was, but it was a basic news item. Astounding.

Rep. Obey is a consistent, through-and-through, anti-American Stalinist. He has the DUmp stamp of approval. That's why the only DUmmies chiming in with their silly outrage are a tiny handful of anonymous no-name DUmmies of zero significance. None of these bits of human flotsam have any idea of who Rep. Obey is.

Mistakes???????? These "mistakes", are out and out lies made to look like the stimulus is working. What a frikkin' joke! Biden even went on some hokey TV network and informed the public it is working much faster than anticipated. HUH?????? These idiots really do live in Uranus!

Ladies and gentleman we are witnessing the biggest out and out theft in history.

I'm guessing the irony of criticizing one of their own for criticizing one of their own hasn't dawned on them.

There's a bonfire on Skins's island, raging out of control (which is why I didn't mess with bringing it over), critical of the Ohio Democrat who sponsored the no-free-abortions amendment on the health care act.
This Ohio Democrat apparently votes the primitive party-line 97% of the time, but 97% isn't good enough for the primitives.

Uh huh.
Abortion is the biggest sacred cow on Skins's island; it trumps all else.

LOL! Gotta love the DU double standard.
Republicans criticizing Bush = Heroic
Democrats criticizing Obama = Scum

“Credibility counts in government and stupid mistakes like this undermine it. We’ve got too many serious problems in this country to let that happen."
Credibility? What credibility? This administration lost credibility before it ever took office. It never had credibility. Furthermore, it doesn't care if it has credibility, it doesn't care who knows it either, as long as it gets its agenda of destroying America enacted. Whatever furthers the agenda. If the appearance of credibility is required, that's one thing, but if not, who cares? As long as it imposes its socialist wealth "distributing" thievery upon America, that's the only important thing. Credibility only matters insomuch as it helps or hinders getting the job done. The most arrogantly socialist race-baiting thieving administration in American history has no use for credibility, except as needed for the sake of appearances-only as needed. Otherwise, they're doing what they set out to do and they don't care who knows it.
God how I loathe them all. And the people who put them there. Stupid clueless American-Idol voters, using their precious vote as a fashion statement.
