Title: Hollywood rethinks use of A-list actors

Hollywood studios are now thinking twice about splurging on A-list movie stars and costly productions in reaction to the poor economy, but also because of the surprising success of recent films with unknown actors.

Gee, here's a tip to Hollywood:

MAKE MOVIES THAT ARE PATRIOTIC PRO-AMERICAN AND/OR MOVIES THAT CELEBRATE CHRISTIAN FAMILY ORIENTED VALUES.

And if you skip these cliches then you might have a winner on your hands:

I would settle for them making movies that are entertaining without any ideology driving them period.

And yet if we look at the Top 10 at the box office last week, how many of them fit into one or more of those stereotypes.

They're not about to learn.

Yeah, I hear ya.

I guess what I should be saying is that Hollywood needs to stop thumbing its nose at middle America/flyover country.   Many of these people tend to be Christian and patriotic.

If Hollywood wants to be financially successful then at least throw flyover country a bone or something.

Else, they'll continue to lose money.   The biggest examples recently were all those Bush bashing, American military bashing movies that bombed.

What's that saying?   Repeating something that fails and expecting different results is insanity.

What gets me is all these 'actors' that are always in the news- but they've never made a half-assed decent movie. (Who the hell is Lindsay Lohan?)
All are just 'pretty', none can act.

Gimme a Cary Grant, Spencer Tracy or Robert Mitchum; a Katharine Hepburn, Ingrid Bergman or Myrna Loy.

I've been saying this for years. Granted, there ARE some really fine actors out there. But seriously, there are SO many actors out there that Hollyweird can have their pick. Why should one actor need to be paid several MILLION dollars when there's another one just as good out there that hasn't made a name for themselves yet that can and WILL do the same job for much less pay??

It's called, "Going with the 'safe' choice."

But when they pay a big name star to do an animated movie, it's kind of retarded.  Very few actors have distinctive voices these days.

Hollyweird's next big name star (http://bighollywood.breitbart.com/jjmnolte/2009/11/17/green-zone-trailer-matt-damon-goes-to-iraq/) flop?

Quote
Nobody liked this movie when it was called “Body of Lies.”
This is the most revealing trailer yet and thankfully we’re given a heads up as to what the story might really be about. Hollywood will look for cover with the excuse that “Green Zone” is based on a true story, but we all know which “true stories” Leftist Hollywood cherry picks in order to fulfill the demands of an anti-American narrative. For example, the true story of 100,000-plus Americans risking their lives to liberate and protect from terrorists people they’ve  never met is one “true story” we’ll see in hell first.
Everything you’d expect from director Paul Greengrass and Damon is here, including that ******* shaky-cam (it’s not saying the Lord’s name in vain if you mean it). Damon’s character is the protagonist and he’s there to do good but it’s not the terrorists who are the antagonists getting in his way … no, it’s The United States of America personified by the Greg Kinnear character.
Look fast for my favorite part of the trailer at the 1:42 mark after Kinnear appears to order Damon’s assassination. When Kinnear’s confronted in the next scene suddenly he’s sporting that old “liberal tell” identifying the bad guys in leftist films: the lapel flag!
In the comments, Hollywood’s few remaining water-carriers should please explain why an industry we’re told is more interested in making profits than making political points would green-light the umpteenth anti-Iraq movie after all umpteen that came before flopped miserably.
SIDE NOTE: Once again I want to make clear that this post violates the rule which only allows Leftist critics and film writers to speculate about an upcoming film before seeing it. I knew that before putting fingers to keyboard and am fully braced for the consequences.

these fuggers just don't know when to quit, huh?

I guess they're thinking Damon will continue his success like he had with the Bourne movies and The Good Shepherd.

They all share the common theme of showing the CIA as some evil all white treasonous zealots outfit.
