How low will the new American president go for the world's royalty?
This photo will get Democrat President Obama a lot of approving nods in Japan this weekend, especially among the older generation of Japanese who still pay attention to the royal family living in its downtown castle. Very low bows like this are a sign of great respect and deference to a superior.
To some in the United States, however, an upright handshake might have looked better. Remember Michelle Obama casually patting Britain's Queen Elizabeth on the back during their Buckingham Palace visit? America's royalty tends to make movies and get bad reviews and lots of money as a sign of respect.
Obama could receive some frowns back home as he did for his not-quite-this-low-or-maybe-about-the-same-bow to the Saudi king not so long ago.....

Bows to the world...tells his countrymen to kiss his @ss.

Obama's deep bow to Japan't Emperor is disgraceful, particularly in the face of his diddling re sending more troops to Afhganastan and his wanting to stall investigating terrorism at Fort Hood. When is enough enough!
-
Has he apologized for Hiroshima ?
Here's the video in case there's squeeeeals from the left that it was photoshopped:

I guess we'll be dipping our flag at the next Olympics too, eh?

Sure he is whatever

In Japanese culture, it's expected for one to bow to another, the person in the weaker position bowing LOWER than the other. What this shows me is that 0bama doesn't know the culture and etiquette and considers himself "weak". Of course, he doesn't demonstrate ANY respect towards his fellow Americans or our culture and etiquette.

Edit: Wrong poster.
Dutch--how's "DC Bob" Gibbs gonna spin THIS tomorrow?
-
(sung to the tune of Swing low Sweet Chariot)

This honestly makes me so sick to my stomach. What in the hell?
Does anybody recall if Bo did the same for H.M. the Queen when Bo was in London half a year ago?
I do recall that the coarse crude mannerless Shelly-0 slapped H.R.H. the Duke of Edinburgh on the back, or something.

A Hot Air trip in the not-so-wayback machine...
http://hotair.com/archives/2009/11/14/flashback-nyt-blasts-clinton-for-almost-bowing-to-akihito/
Flashback: NYT blasts Clinton for … almost bowing to Akihito
"Both Allahpundit and I referenced this blast from the past at the time Barack Obama bowed to Abdullah earlier this year. It’s worth posting again, not just because Obama pulled another boneheaded protocol violation and bowed to an emperor, but in this case bowed to the same emperor with whom Bill Clinton almost committed the same protocol violation. Douglas Jehr, in a 1994 New York Times report, made it clear that had Clinton actually executed a full bow, it would have destroyed a precedent dating to the founding of the Republic:"
NYT link...
It wasn’t a bow, exactly. But Mr. Clinton came close. He inclined his head and shoulders forward, he pressed his hands together. It lasted no longer than a snapshot, but the image on the South Lawn was indelible: an obsequent President, and the Emperor of Japan.
Canadians still bow to England’s Queen; so do Australians. Americans shake hands. If not to stand eye-to-eye with royalty, what else were 1776 and all that about? …
Guests invited to a white-tie state dinner at the White House (a Clinton Administration first) were instructed to address the Emperor as “Your Majesty,†not “Your Highness†or, worse, “King.†And in what one Administration aide called “some emperor thing,†an Army general was cautioned that he should not address the Emperor Akihito at all as he escorted him to the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery.
But the “thou need not bow†commandment from the State Department’s protocol office maintained a constancy of more than 200 years. Administration officials scurried to insist that the eager-to-please President had not really done the unthinkable.

I don't think he bowed to the Queen of England, but only shook her hand.

Obama Stumbles Again
http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2009/11/024951.php
Different "stumble", same trip.... (see video at link)
Barack Obama: you can dress him up, but you can't take him out. Every time he goes abroad, he embarrasses himself and sells out his country.
In Japan today, Obama gave a press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Hatoyama. He was asked this question, for which he was unaccountably unprepared:
And to President Obama, you are a proponent of a nuclear-free world, and you've stated, first of all, you would like to visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki while in office. Do you have this desire? And what is your understanding of the historical meaning of the A-bombing in Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Do you think that it was the right decision?
To understand how stumbling and ill-prepared Obama's response was, you really have to watch the video. In the end, the reporter repeats the question, did the U.S. do the right thing in bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki? And Obama refuses to answer:
-
And gave the Queen a tape machine that does not work on Euro voltage with video discs (of his speeches) that won't play on a Euro disc player. Crass, thoughtless, buffoonish. At the time, when exchanging gifts, better to give something UNUIQUELY American, Ben Nighthorse Campbell jewelry, an American Landscape artist's (minor artist) painting, a "Cappy" Amundsen seascape, a piece of Paul Revere's contemporary silver, Navajo hand woven tapistry, a coin from rtthe "Central America" wreck, a recovered piece of the Titanic rec overed with AMERICAN technology are a FEW of the things off the top of my head that would have been better.
What did the Mr. Obama bring to Japan to give to the host nation? Nothing?
-
Peter3, I cringe to think of what it might be. I like your idea of a Navajo tapestry. Tasteful and symbolic.
Every day with this jackass is like a nightmare that I can't wake up from.
-
And what is your understanding of the historical meaning of the A-bombing in Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Do you think that it was the right decision?
Ya it was the right thing to do. It stopped the war in the Pacific, didn't it? :fuelfire:
What a waffling idiot.
-
And saved a million American soldiers lives, not to mention another 4 or 5 million Japanese lives. Even WITH the bombs, it was a matter of minuites that kept the military from stopping the Emperior's surrender message. A situation that would have required several more years of war and more nuclear waR.
-
Chris Titus has a good response to this.
"I'm whitey... But I'm not apologizing cause you guys started that one." :rotf:
-
My understanding of Japanese protocol is that both parties bow. The lower ranking party bows lower. Well, we already know that LOWBama considers America the lower.
-
What an embarrassment.
-
I can't wait for the photo of one of these "leaders" actually patting O on the head...like a groveling pup needing attention.
If I don't make light of this in public I will no doubt be arrested.
-
this made me laugh...

Eat more beans and pass gas.
Run some menstrating whores by there.
Have a pack of dogs run through the crowd.
....anything to nullify their prayers.
-
One of these days LOWbama won't be able to get up from the low bow and will have to walk around like The HunchbacK of Notra Dame.
-
How embarrassing, A US President bows to no one, I don't care who they are....He makes me sick.I tought bowing to the Saudi King was bad....good grief.

Let's hope nothing next. Let's hope he goes to sleep for the next 3and a half years like Rip Van Winkle. We're better off if he does Nothing!
-
Correct, doing nothing would the best thing he could do.
-
I can't even LOOK at him and his high riding behind any more.

...and now before the Chinese premier:

I know I shouldn't laugh quite so hard at that cartoon - mostly because of the accuracy - but it's still funny as ****.
-
When my son was in HS he exchanged to Japan. His HS Teacher gave him better protocall advice than Barry gets. A level of incompetence unsurpassed in American History.
-
Bowing low till your nose hits the rug. Learned and practiced as a child and a youth, it becomes reflexive. Lowbama can't help himself.
HAVE A HAPPY THANKSGIVING THEN WE GET BACK TO WORK... :cheersmate:
