Since Rearden didn't start one, I will.
Great to see College GameDay on ESPN this morning, broadcasting from the heart of the TCU campus. Glad to see so many students & fans, wish it could have been like that when I was there.
Also happy to see that the Frogs have sold out the stadium for the first time in 3 years. It's hard to do with a stadium of 45k and a student body of less than 8,000. The only times we ever even approached a sellout back in my days was when Texas or A&M were in town, and they were the dominant fan presence.
Not so sure about the new uniforms, however.
I hope we can live up to the hype, 20 point favorites against Utah.
Can I hope for another big upset in front of us? Got one last week with the Hawkeyes losing, maybe Alabama goes down on the road?
Enjoy your college Saturday everyone! :cheersmate:

We lost 2 O-linemen and Auston English for the season. We'll be lucky to beat A&M now. Tech and OSU will be losses. On the upside, the tailgates will be even more wild than ever.

NU and KU about to kick.

Any prediction how that's going to go?
I'm "whatever."

Well, it's a good matchup for Nebraska. Good D vs. KU's offense. KU is terrible at both aspects of defense, particularly the pass. O' Hanlon's injury's severity is an issue for Nebraska, I personally think he'll be okay. Now that Helu is back and seems to be alright...I'll give NU a slight edge.

Kansas can't stop anyone on defense. I'd lean with the Huskers.
-
Nebraska 7, Kansas 0, first quarter.
I suppose a win would make Nebraska bowl-eligible.

Iowa State 17, Colorado 3

Wow.
Tennessee 17, Mississippi 42.

Uh oh.
Iowa 3, Ohio State 0, first quarter.

All Iowa can do is run the ball & play defense. The redshirt freshman QB for Iowa will not be able to pass.
I would expect the Buckeyes to win big...eventually.

It's just not a good day in the Big 10, it seems.
First, Penn State wins, and now Ohio State's dragging its feet.
-
Not a good day in the Pacific 10 either.
Stanford 14, Southern California 0, end of second quarter.
Washington 0, Oregon State 10, second quarter.
-
Iowa 3, Ohio State 3, second quarter.
-
Nebraska 10, Kansas 0, second quarter.

I'm trying to remember what year it was--the late 1950s, I think--that Nebraska went 3-6.
But the three wins were against #1, #2, and #4 in the country.
Oklahoma and Syracuse were two of those three; can't remember the third one.

Before I depart for the evening.....

Whoa-ho.
It's a good day in the Big 12.
Colorado 10, Iowa State 17, final.

I see Stanford is kicking butt vs. USC... so far.
Iowa is fighting their guts out but just missed a FG. Man I do like a good fight. Let's go Buckeye's.
-
Heck of a momentum shift in favor of tOSU. TD, INT, TD!
Heh... just after I typed the above (before I could hit post) Iowa ran back the kickoff for a TD. 17-24 Buckeye's now. Game on!
-
OSU's turn to miss a FG. Nevermind that "momentum" crap from before. :p
On edit:
Iowa got a TD and we are in overtime! FOOTBALL!!! :p

Congratulations to Ohio State, 27-24!

Greatest coach ever. After a touchdown gave him a 50-14 lead over Michigan in 1968, he went for a two-point conversion, "Because I couldn't go for three." Not a PC bone in his body.

OU-65
Texas A&M-10
:o
Did not expect that.

Have all but had it with 'Coach' Rich Rodriguez at Michigan. Worst coach 'Blue' has ever had in my lifetime [and that's awhile]. Fire the loser, take the salary hit-athletic department also needs better leadership and negotiators in choice selection. At this point I think a trash can would be a better coach. With luck they could go against Ohio next week without a coach, and be better off. :banghead:

So happy to see the Frogs put an epic beat-down on the Utes, 55-28. And we had a record crowd of over 50,000 fans.

Wow.
Tennessee 17, Mississippi 42.
:banghead: It's only a rumor that Tennessee plays football.....
is it time for basketball yet?

First time I really got to see TCU play this year (saw a little bit of their game against Clemson) and they are really good. Of the unbeated teams remaining in the lesser conferences (Cincinnati & Bosie State), I believe TCU would beat both of them. Of all the teams in the nation, the only one's who could probably beat them would be Florida, Texas, and Alabama, but I wouldn't even bet on that. TCU has a really good team.
----------
As it stands now, I think Texas will win out and go to the BCS Championship Game w/out a doubt. So will the winner of the Florida-Alabama SEC Championship. Problem is I don't know who would win at this point. The way I see it, head-to-head Alabama would beat Florida, Florida would beat Texas, but Texas would beat Alabama, so it's a circle. I mainly say Bama over Florida because of the revenge factor from last year.
If I'm Texas, I pull for Bama to win the SEC. Texas will shut down Bama's running game and Bama's D-backs can't keep up with Texas' WR's. Florida's got too much speed for Texas all the way around.

Coach Rodriguez is introducing Michigan to a new football culture, and needs time and patience to fully implement his changes. I believe he should be given a contract extension of at least ten years. This new football culture in Michigan is something we need to savor slowly, to appreciate for many, many seasons. A lot of us have enjoyed the last two seasons immensely. The old, outdated tradition at Michigan resulted in year after year of 9 wins, 10 wins, or 11 wins. It became boring and predictable. Now it's exciting, with lots of small guys rushing around very quickly, the ball bouncing around on the ground. We don't know if a season will result in as few as one win, or as many as six or seven. It's just been great!
