Poll question: Do you believe Jesus was transhuman?

Poll result (19 votes)
Yes.   (0 votes, 0%)
No.   (16 votes, 84%)
Unsure.   (1 votes, 5%)
Other.    (2 votes, 11%)

"Transhuman" in this context appears to mean "superhuman."  I don't know why the poster didn't use the more common "superhuman," though.

Anyway, I'm betting most of the "no" votes are from atheists who either believe Jesus didn't exist or that he was just some run-of-the-mill Jewish rabbi.

I'd have voted "no," too.  During his earthly life, Jesus was an ordinary human.  That he performed miracles didn't make him superhuman.  Even after his resurrection, I would argue that Jesus still wasn't superhuman.  He was a perfected human - i.e. as humans should have been had Adam and Eve not sinned.

Of course, a thread about Jesus wouldn't be complete without unabashed idiocy:

3. Whatever else he may have been, I am certain he wasn't a blonde haired, blue eyed zombie.

You and every other Christian on the planet, fool.

6. The fundies want Jesus to be from Omaha. If Jesus did exist my guess is

he was a Jew from the Mediterranean.

Oh, fer Buddha's sake!  No, fundies don't "want Jesus to be from Omaha."  We're very well aware that Jesus was "a Jew from the Mediterranean," thankyouverymuch.

Jesus Christ was 100% human and 100% Diety.

Even for the primitives that believe in God, their concept of Him are so far from what the scriptures teach as to be blasphemy.  They really aren't interested, because doing so would cause them to change their lives and quit viewing themselves as victims, and that's the last thing they want to do.

Yep.  He wasn't superhuman during his earthly life like all the mythological deities.  He was conceived and born, he got hungry, thirsty and tired, and he could be injured and killed.  He never did anything of his own earthly ability that no other human could do.  His miracles came from the Father, but the apostles also performed miracles.

They take it straight from Dawkins: "The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully."

Where in the world did Richard Dawkins ever get that, from the Old Testament?

I've read the Old Testament, and that's not the "picture" of God I get from it.

I've always been skeptical of Dawkins anyway; he's afflicted with a horrible degenerative disease and is enormously crippled, which of course is unfortunate.

But what's even more unfortunate is that he thinks he can ameliorate the frustration, the resentment, the anger, the bitterness, about it by being a totally negative person.

And of course one can't; it only makes it worse.

Dawkins didn't get that from The Bible.  He took a couple partially understood historical facts and "made like the MSM"...slanted them until they were so far from the truth that they were actually the opposite of truth.  Typical DUmmy...whether or not he's found his on the DUmp yet.

Um...  I think you're thinking of Stephen Hawking.  Hawking is an agnostic who doesn't speak about God the way Dawkins does.

Actually, I believe after the Devil prompted him to perform super human feats, it pretty much puts the lid on this BS!
