I'm hoping to release a new, brighter, wittier, version of DU for Guests, the 2009 edition, over Thanksgiving, but I'm still tying up loose ends.
There's a section describing the sacred cows of the primitives, of which I've identified three.
The most important sacred cow of course is abortion.
The primitive love and venerate abortion more than anything else.
As long as the primitives can have abortion, they'll happily give up all else, including the Bill of Rights.
The other two sacred cows, I can't decide how to rank them, number two and number three; which one's the more important one.
There's the guaranteed living allowance, in one form or another, just so everybody ostensibly gets enough money to live high on the hog.
And then there's the worship of pharmaceuticals, licit and illicit, as if the best way of dealing with the problems of the world is by escaping from it.
There might be more sacred cows--Bo and "free medical care for all" don't count, because there's not nearly the unanimity of adoration of those things, among the primitives.
Can anybody think of any other sacred cows on Skins's island?

I may be thinking of this in a different way, but I would add "White Guilt". If you are an adult white male, you must appologize for everything, unless you are gay. You must capitulate to everything and bow to everyone. At least I see it as a Dummie mainstay. Just my 2 cents.

That one strikes me as a semi-sacred cow, not a sacred cow, because as with "free medical care for all," it's not unanimous on Skins's island.
Almost unanimous, but not quite.
However, I will consider it.

This is probably tied in with the Anti U.S. military and the "everything is Bush's fault" idealogues but I'm thinking maybe a more general idea of an "Anti U.S." sentiment. Their notion that this country was born with slavery intact and grew by throwing the native Indians off their lands; therefore, everything the US does is suspect. Heck, the One has spent his first year in office apologizing to everyone on this planet for everything we've ever done. He's in Japan right now, apologizing to the Japanese for bombing them in WWII. The idea of American Exceptionalism and the "Shining City on the Hill" is completely ridiculous to the Dummies. :mental:

Yep, it goes further than that too. They believe every last tier on Maslow's hierarchy of needs is a "right" and should be provided to them, over all others of course, by those who possess them. So, entitlement of their every momentary whim should be up there.

Hatred of Christianity is a unanimous policy of democrats and DUmmies. Of course they also hate Jewry, and any other legitimate world religion. They adore the muzzie cult, voodoo, animism, atheism, and witchcraft.
You also need to consider the living sacred cows: The Kootch, Helen Thomas, Keef and The Munch, Conyers, The Goracle......
How about the sacred belief that anything "organic" is better. It's a boon to farmers, who can sell misshapen, bug-eaten produce to DUmmies for double the normal price, but a stupid belief nonetheless.
And the sacrerd belief, sweeping the DUmmy world, in human-generated global warming. It's a corollary to the general envirowackery that pervades lib thought, mainly as a way to attack American industry and prosperity.

Organic foods I'm not so sure about--but will consider--as there doesn't seem to be 99.9% unanimity about that on Skins's island.

Not a sacred cow, but a beef nonetheless - That in their dogged pursuit to assure no one's rights get trampled on by being forced to listen to, see, touch, or think about someone else's religion or beliefs - they are trampling on the rights of others to listen to, see, touch, and think about their own religion or beliefs. Eh, there are some voices of sanity over there. The general consensus is that more legislation and judicial rulings for restrictive infringement of the 2nd Amendment should occur. The severity of those laws is fluid, though. Check out the iverglas primates' postings in the Gungeon if you want to see the more radical element of that side.

Yeah, the iverglas primitive, from Canada, is an idiot.
This is one of the problems with selecting sacred cows.
There's just enough primitives who are pro-Second Amendment to make gun control not a sacred cow, and ditto for the military.
Voices on Skins's island in favor of the Second Amendment and complimentary to the military have been tepid and weak, but they've been there.
On the other hand, things such as abortion or gay marriage or white guilt, if one says the "wrong" thing, one's off the island.

Denial

I'd say the #1 sacred cow, the one that has generated more tombstones than any in recent days, is the jug-eared muslim himself. Anyone doubting his deity is in jeopardy of immediate bannng. How many Hillbots, Kootch lovers, and disciples of the ambulance chaser have bitten the dust for criticizing the Kenyan? The ones who have survived have done so only by keeping quiet and bowing frequently toward Nairobi.
