Hey! Ws wondering if anybody here has installed windows 7 on their cpu or laptop? What problems have you incurred? Do you really have to back up all of your personal files?

I'll be waiting until they start getting the inevitable bugs and vulnerabilities worked out of it first.

I've heard nothing but glowing praise for it for quite some time.

Several people I know have been using the beta release.

I'm going to upgrade when I purchase a  SSD for my games machine.   :-)

Am ordering a new computer for Mrs. E with Win 7 on it.

Vista is an abortion and an affront to humanity. It must go.

Windows 7 is to Vista what XP was to Windows ME...... It'll probably have some updates and massive security holes as ALL other versions of Windows have had but I've only read pretty positive reviews of Windows 7

I actually have a brand new copy of it but am a little nervous about installing it. I shut the updates for Vista off when I got my new laptop because I heard that if you left them on the updates would erase your settings and everything you did previously on the laptop. Wondering if that will be a problem when installing Windows 7?

I've always shied away from upgrading a Windows version and opted for a fresh install. Windows always seems to work better that way, IMO.
