Anyone else feel like they're being worked like a sled dog?
In these days of crushing unemployment, I'm truly thankful to have a job, but this is getting crazy. My department at work, 2 employees strong, is doing the work of about 10-12 people. It's been about 3 straight weeks of 10-12 hour workdays. And the stress on people in the other departments is rather apparent.
Is anybody shocked that worker productivity is so high? There's no one else left to do any work.
Cube rats of the world unite!!! Workers of the World Unite!!!
One day they're going to push us too far and

You have to feel for DUmmy marmar. As soon as they get one car spotless, another dirty one comes in behind it. Wait until they start spreading salt in the winter.
DUmmy Skittles is overworked at the call center:

1. don't get me started
sample: time change night - 14 hours straight, no breaks, no lunch and even to go to the bathroom I have to shout to coworkers to listen for my phone and put 'em on hold - and I had to take a sizable pay cut
DUmmy Brickbat is itching to go postal on someone:

4. You need to decide what "too far" is and be ready for that day.
Because it's sure as shit coming.

6. I just got laid off from one job
Only to be lucky because I got rehired to do the exact same job only with less people in another department for a lot more work. Yeah. Same pay. But a bunch who got laid off with me are going to be unemployed. Lucky us.
The enraging thing is that all the staff are still needed but a good third are let go.
I really think all the threads like this are generated by DUmmies who want to brag about having a job to the rest of the chronically unemployed DUmp.

Blind Squirrel Alert!!!!!
That my dear DUmbass is why the unemployment number of lost jobs per month is going down. It has nothing to do with an idiot in charge that is raising business expenses and taxes while draining the private sector of capital, there are just fewer non-essential jobs left. The next domino to drop is when companies fail and the last employees are laid off....but hey we will have freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee healthcare in 2013!!!!

If you are accomplishing the work of 10 or 12 with 3 or 4 workers ..... some down sizing was called for. Companies tend to grow their number of employees too much in the good times and use the down times to figure out just what they really need.
Grow a spine DUmmie. Most of us work 10 - 12 hour days as a matter of doing business. Which is exactly why we resent paying for your sorry asses.

Bedsores from fold-out couchbeds in basements are passing for "overworked" now???

Dear DUmmies,
As someone who has likely paid more in federal, SSA, and Medicare taxes than you'll make all year, for the record, may I simply say, "**** you, you whining little shits. Don't tell me what it's like to be overworked."
Love and kisses,
Sparky

What!?! Obie isn't paying all their living expenses? What about all those jobs created by the stimulus?
Using a term like "overworked" when speaking of Primitives? No, no, no; I don't think so. Had it said "over medicated" I would have believed it.

"Overworked," to a DUmb****, is "anyworked."

Oh dear Lord, I thought he was going to say something else. :lmao:
I don't want to hear it from the DUmmies. From April to October I work 2 full time jobs. 80 hours between my job and the family business. But unlike them, I love to work.

I hate to work. Well, I hate my job. But my penchant for a roof over my head, and a car to drive, and, well food to eat for myself and my dog keep me working a 50-60 hour week. Well, that and my lack of success at picking the right lotto numbers.

You know, if I were of a lesser character, I'd say as soon as I get all my bills paid off, screw everyone, I'm working the absolute MINIMUM--just enough to pay my bills. Hell, maybe not even that much. Unca Bammy's gonna pay my mortgage and fill my gas tank now!
No OT, no callouts, no shiftwork. I'll quit the plant and go to work as a freakin Wal-Mart greeter.
Trust me, the temptation is there, the more I hear these assholes telling I'M the evil one and should "share" more.

You know, I wish I had the concern over consistently having too much work. They've cut staff pretty seriously, and overall, the workload is still pretty light. We aren't allowed to even request overtime unless it is a major necessity, and even then, they would prefer that a salaried employee pick up the slack. When I started working here, we were allowed pretty much as much overtime as we wanted to work. I put in 14 hour days when work was heavy. I'm looking forward to the economy picking up enough to allow for that again, because it is an awesome way to get some extra money in the bank.
