Graham argued that the House bill was "written for liberals, by liberals.

Sorry, but if Lindsey "RINO" Graham told me water was wet, I'd still check to make sure.

And "written by liberals for liberals" means it was written for Graham.

What's makes him a "RINO"? (God, I hate that stupid term.)

What's makes him a "RINO"?

He votes with the Democrats more than the Republicans and is always kissing up to Obama and company.

Where would you like me to start?

"Gang of 14"
Supported Amnesty
Supported closing GITMO
Favors "cap and trade"
Supported Sotomayor
Voted against perjury charge against Clinton
Didn't vote to end funding to ACORN

And oh yeah, the ACU lists him as one of the more liberal GOP members of the Senate.  So does the National Journal.

Want some more, noob?

So he's saying it was written for him?  I'm confused.

I'm so disgusted with Congress as a whole, I'm not going to believe a word any of them utter anymore.

Kick 'em all out in 2010 and start over.

I don't know what his 2009 ratings are, but here are his 2008 ratings:

ACU (conservative) : 82%

ADA (liberal): 15%

Wrong Gramm.  You're thinking Phil Gramm of Texas.  However, IMHO, balanced budgets weren't that bad an idea, then or now.

Noob he may be here.  But I know him from way back (we have both been kicked off the same boards for similiar reasons).  We don't always agree, but he is a crusty old fart* like I am, and I respect him.

Y'all give him an honest chance and make up your minds, but I think you will find him to be an interesting addition to the board.

* Crusty old fart refers to mind set and not chronological age in this instance.

Why do you hate it?  It is often rather accurate.

I think it's way over-applied. For instance, I've been called a RINO.  :rotf:

Same here.  We disagree fairly often (I am unquestionably more conservative than he is....of course, I'm unquestionably more conservative than MOST people) and yet remain friends.

*I guess I am the female version of a "crusty old fart"

I think, during the next 12 months, Sen. Graham will take a philosophical right turn. Call it a hunch.

I don't know......unless I am mistaken he doesn't come up for re-election until 2012.  My guess is he will have a conservative conversion just prior to the Republican primary that year.

I am not that familiar with Georgia politics.  Isn't there someone over there more conservative who could run against him and win in the Republican primary?

Alright, if you don't like the term RINO, how about we call them Democrats In All But Label Only, or DIABLOs?

I can't be called a RINO because I am NOT a Republican - I am a conservative - and trust me, especially in the last few years there is a world of difference.

While it hasn't happened often, I HAVE been known in the past to vote for a Democrat, especially on the local level, when they were the more conservative of the candidates.

2014.....and how do I know so well you may ask....BECAUSE I HAVE VOTED FOR THE S.O.B.......TWICE..... it won't happen again, I promise you.

I only voted for him the last time to keep an "R" on his seat in the senate....would have been better off with a southern conservative democrat in his seat.

We have two "old time" South Carolina politicians in this state that make me proud.
Joe Wilson and Jim DeMint.

Another screw for Windy Graham's casket.

Why screws instead of nails you ask.....they're harder to pull out.

Agreed.  They'll find some way to bend over and grab their ankles, and Graham will be one of the ones leading the way.
