I don't know about y'all, but I feel absolutely nauseous right now.
I was channel surfing and the great "uprising" of the Teabagger Brigades is being covered like there is blood running in the streets of every city and town of the nation. Legislators spinning themselves into the ground trying to justify any ridiculous question posited and saying nothing. I come here for respite and find venom running everywhere. Spiteful and directionless castigation of any attempt to move forward.
Now I don't agree with everything going on in DC, but I do know that we need to get a foot in the door because continuing with the status quo will mean certain death and needless chronic health problems for millions. Nothing is not an option.
Teabagger roadbumps. Congressional roadblocks. Senate roadblocks. DU roadblocks. An effin' roadblock is an effin' roadblock.

3. Drama draws in viewers. Doesn't matter if it's false and dangerous. It makes money.

13. no. it's about confusing the public, not about making money.
the media = oligopolistic.
they frame the issue: teabaggers v. radical left. no other positions discussed.
it doesn't matter which "side" you take. their interest is that you believe in the reality of this phony binary. thus other ideas become, literally, "unthinkable," because they've built a structure of background assumptions that don't support other constructions.
it's orwell come to life.

4. Media coverage....
Anti-bank protest in Chicago: No coverage
Gay rights march in Washington: No coverage
Huge anti-war protests in 2003: No coverage
A dozen morons with "Obama = Hitler" signs: 24 hour a day coverage on all channels.
It's corporate propaganda, not "news".
Actually, the gay rights march was covered by the media, but when the subway cat, as the largest and most colorful float in the parade, hove into view, the lenses on the cameras cracked.

6. You are so right....
Willfully ignorant people watching Fox, etc. will always be around. It's simply not worth getting upset over. I finally got to the 'Acceptance' stage of this.

7. Not much progress will be made while Big Media is still intact
When we do what needs to be done on that front, the dialog will change quickly.

11. Worth knowing that busses are being provided by "Americans For Prosperity" and Dick Armey's "Freedom Works" is involved too.

12. If they were rallying for single payer, you'd hear crickets chirping on TV.

I'm loving the affect this is having at DUmmyland. They are all very fearful (and rightfully so) that uncle Barry may not get his way.

Wasn't this protest march just organized a week or so ago?

Could you imagine a beautiful woman not changing her underwear very often?
Talk about sad

Talk about gross exaggerations! "We're all gonna DIE! Help us Dear Leader!"
Re: Chronic health problems--try eating a salad and doing an occasional sit up. It's not Big Brother's job to keep us healthy, it's YOURS.

The skidmarked underwear primitive, who in the past has endorsed physical violence against those with whom she disagrees, does have a chronic health problem, but it bedevils me how she thinks she's making it any better, or ameliorating it, by her hatred of all that is good and decent.
It's kind of the same thing with Chief S itting Bull, the bird-smacking stoned red-faced primitive.
We all choose our own destinies, and if one takes the path of Hate, one ends up at a dead end, nowhere to go.
It couldn't possibly happen to any better people.
