Oh, God. so it begins. The "V" pilot is on and...
...the main "Visitor" alien just said they want to introduce Universal Health Care.
So who rewrote this pilot and what flavor of propaganda are we going to have to put up with to enjoy the remake?
snort giggle

3. Um... it makes sense given the tenor of the show
The Vs aren't just giving people universal healthcare, they're healing people with miraculous procedures. Easier to snow people over when you give them what they dream about.
Blowing smoke up people's asses worked for Barry O.

24. You're forgetting that Conservatives chronically project.
Edited on Tue Nov-03-09 09:21 PM by Ian David
For example, they're trying to say HITLER was a LIBERAL now.
But then again, all the Visitors are supposed to be attractive.
And although I love some of our most Liberal congress-critters...
... you know they're not always easy on the eyes.
You are not only a freaking pervert but a total freaking moron too.

Yeah, I remember oh so clearly President Bush attacking the media that didn't agree with him. Oh wait, that was 0Bama. :hammer:

Wow. I guess the Kool-Aid is still flowing over there. :koolaid:

For any DUmbass reading, Hitler WAS a Damn liberal, in the way you idiots vote and in how the word is defined in the United States of America. He was for every damn thing you are for. Only thing different is he was for war. Eventually, you idiots will come to that to continue on with your agenda.
I am waiting, and I am armed. Well armed.
-
The original "V" mini-series came out when Reagan was president. The series then portrayed the aliens as fascists. Liberals loved it.
Fast-forward 20 years. New "V" mini-series rips material straight from Obama's mouth. Liberals reaction? They hate it.
Hilarious!

Liberals don't really have a problem with war when it is a liberal president.

Hmm, "Fascist", you mean the term that was created under the "Leftist" Benito Mussolini?

I knew the window licking morons over at DU would flip over the "Universal Healthcare" bit. Must suck to be them
-
Seeing how Obama compares to facism and seeing its similarities is what makes them mad.

The Republicanization of the series reboot of V...
Edited on Wed Nov-04-09 04:11 AM by cynatnite
If you watched the original series it was the RW rich types who got into bed with the aliens and the world wound up living under fascism. It was the lefties who resisted and who were the good guys. Hell, they even protected a girl's right to choose when she got knocked up by a lizard.
On the new series we've got beautiful aliens offering free universal health care in order to ingratiate themselves to a populace they wish to feed upon. The stage is set for the religious and righteous to resist and fight. Chances are they'll be painted as narrow minded xenophobes by the universal health care-loving alien buddies that will also happen to be Dems.
In other words, it's the 20 percenters, the birthers, and what's left of the republican party that's has to stand up for the bible, the flag, and for real 'merkins. etc.
Or it could be that I've been watching and reading too much politics.
20% or so of the country call themselves liberals...

6. It started out OK but it soon turned into a
nothing more than a political statement. All those young people being brainwashed into thinking they were just here to help earth and give us Universal Health Care. I wouldn't be surprised if the head lizard is black and they have a flag that resembles a swastika.
:thatsright:

7. The fellow that wrote the pilot
...also wrote the Sci-Fi network series The 4400. As I recall, that series had a somewhat similar plotline about the "taken" attempting to control the world.
The writer for this new version of "V" is Canadian and while I don't know his particular political leanings I'm really not concerned that this show will have any great affect on the American Public. "V has been trouble-plagued since it began production. That writer I mentioned just yesterday (Scott Peters) stepped down as show runner and a third show runner has taken his place. As well, production on the series came to a halt this summer after only 4 episodes were filmed and so far, there's no broadcast dates scheduled after ABC airs the first four episodes.
It was the USA network, BTW...
"In the pilot episode, what was originally thought to be a comet deposits a group of exactly 4400 people at Highland Beach, in the Cascade Range foothills near Mount Rainier, Washington. Each of the 4400 had disappeared at various times starting from 1946 in a beam of white light. None of the 4400 have aged from the time of their disappearance. Confused and disoriented, they remember nothing between the time of their disappearance and their return."

Too funny TV comedy for the last 25 + years has depicted white males as stupid oafs barely able to exist.
Drama shows have consistently attacked conservative or religious values and daytime talk shows have been dominated by the likes of Phil Donahue and Oprah with the Rosies and Barbara Walters of "The View" thrown in.
One has to think long and hard to find any conservative leaning shows.
Funny how libs always want to shut down what they consider "unfair" while ignoring the obvious and we just go along with our lives and accept what is as being part of a free country.
-
As I can't watch the new V, but remember the old very well, here's a point I'm sure they forgot:
In the original, the Visitors offered to give humanity the CURE FOR CANCER. They only changed the scale of the offer, not the offer itself.
-
V always had a political and social point to make .Now as then it is warning against just how easy it is to loose your freedoms and what it takes to get them back. The reason the DUmpmonkies over at DU are so pissed off about the new "V" is that they know that they are just like the Visitors in every way.

It would not surprise me the least if Obie and Hillary and the others turn out to be alien visitors.
