Drug Testing BULLSHIT
I have always thought that Drug Testing is Unconstitutional. And yes, while it makes sense in heavy equipment operations, for admin. work, filing or answering phones...it is ridiculous to me.
So the guy who goes on a bender all weekend and whose blood or urine is clean by monday can do whatever...but if I smoke a joint it is in my body for a month and I am the one who gets penalized? bullshit!
I have recently re-connected with a temp agency I used to do work for about 10 years ago...and in their NEW! 13 page application and reference and background check, is a form about drug testing... saying that "some" places want their temps tested, and if you test positive, you will be INELIGIBLE. Not just for that particular job, but for ALL positions for 6 months!
Why can't I tell these employers that I refuse to submit to these tests?
Why don't I have the OPTION to refuse and sign a waiver or something?
where are MY rights?
oh, so sorry...I am just a Prole...I have none.
(...THIS is why I need to make my freelancing business work for ME, because this is straight up bullshit and I am NOT working for a ****ing PRISON system...)
we now return you to your regularly scheduled programming...

You have the right to look for a job that doesn't have drug testing.

1. Welcome to the "we know best" nanny state.
Nope. Most companies do not set their drug policies under federal or state mandates.
Pretty big bonfire, as lots of DUmmies do drugs.

The main reason employers have these rules is that don't want people who do illegal things working for them. Really, it isn't that hard to not use pot.

You can, DUmmie. But they can also tell you to hit the bricks. They have rights as a company to determine whether or not they want drug-addled idiots working at their place. Personally, I'd refuse to hire you simply because you post at the DUmp.

You can, dipwad. What makes you think you can't?

You have your "rights". What YOU want to do is take away someone else's rights to associate/employ only those who are not a danger to themselves and an embarrassment to the owners of the business where you hope to be working.
That's the way it is with lunatic liberals. They think up these crazy-ass "rights" they think they are being denied and then insist someone's actual rights be destroyed in order to fashion some ridiculous world where the liberal lunatic may do exactly as he pleases.
oh, so sorry...I am just a Prole...I have none.
Really, you are just an idiot who cannot complete a logical puzzle.

Personally I think the main reason is they don't want to be sued when the shit hits the fan. And DUmmies are the first type of people to seek legal assistance in the case of an accident.
If a company has someone out making deliveries and they are involved in an accident the first thing that happens is the drug/alcohol test. If someone shows up positive it's going to court and you are going to lose.

Democrat mantra...let's all get high and screw.
Anything less than that is a violation of my rights.

Couldn't have said it better myself, me lord. :cheersmate:

I'll guarantee you that if you are a very good employee and test positive you will keep your job.

The problem is that most companies require a pre hire drug test, which is what the DUmmie OP complained about. For a long time we had no drug testing, and it wasn't a secret that a couple of people were getting high at lunch time. Unfortunately for them, many of our customers started requiring their contractors like us to have drug testing policies. Even so, I think it takes 3 times of failing the test before being fired.
-
This is all not to mention that once they get hired that most companies are bound to providing you treatment options if you are found dirty later at company expense. Provided of course you request the treatment BEFORE you bust dirty on the UA.
This is an expense that a lot of companies don't want to pay for and shouldn't have to pay for.

My company requires a pre-employment, and we do randoms every month. We are not in a heavy equipment operating place, but we do business with the gub-mint, and they require it. One test positive you are fired. No questions asked. If you test positive for a drug that you do not have an Rx for, like codeine, xanax, etc....you are fired, no questions asked.

Bingo.
Look, I think it sucks too that someone can drink their asses off all weekend and they are technically "clean," whereas smoking pot literally does put you at risk of failing a drug test for 30 days.
Cry me a river. Lots of companies don't drug test. Lots do. Get over it.

These idiots think they own the jobs, not the other way around.
"Sane" people understand full well that those jobs belong to the employer, one that you must to compete for to be hired.

Mind, this is the same crowd that says because 3 employees raped a female contractor in Iraq, Halliburton needs to be crushed financially (as a former Halliburton employee I can attest 1st hand that rape is definitely against the rules).
In other words, they want the company liable for actions the company does not condone but refuse to hold the employee accountable for their personal actions.

Yeah, Bunny, but we're talking about Halliburton here. They'd probably want Cheney frog-marched to the Hague if a Halliburton employee farted in the hallway.

Not where I work. Ditto active duty military.

Poor little DUmmie.

A positive drug test confirms that you are coming to work in a drugged state that places my company at risk of ruinous liability in the event of an accident. More importantly, much more importantly, it confirms that you are a criminal. People who whine about drug testing somehow overlook that using marijuana is a crime. Pot smokers, by definition, are criminals. At my company, and I suspect most places run by responsible people, one positive drug test results in immediate termination, regardless of previous on-the-job performance. We do not want criminals in our midst.
