Very quiet in the office today...a lot riding on tomorrow (NY-23 and Maine marriage)..
After 2008, I didn't think this year would be too exciting, politics-wise. But I wound up doing a lot of work for Maine's Protect Marriage Equality campaign, and the big surprise, NY-23. I created many of the direct mail and GOTV pieces for the Owens campaign and for the NY Dems. Got called in Saturday after Scozzafava dropped out to do one last piece that they could use in canvassing...twenty minutes after it was done and delivered, Scozzafava dropped her bombshell, so it was all re-done first thing this morning.
The down side; I also did a lot of work for the VA governor's race, which looks as if it's going to be a rout. Oh well...can't win 'em all. But at least it's slowed down for a bit, for now -- I'm already working on campaign material for several of the key 2010 races. This is like retail, where you're always working on next year's trends!
Anyway, cool stuff. And thanks to all the hard-working people who have to go door to door carrying armloads brochures, doorhangers and flyers. You guys do the hard work, and it's greatly appreciated!

No doubt it's quality garbage can material.

Oh, I didn't know Maine had a marriage referendum. It's not one my key issues, so it just flew under the radar. Wonder how that will turn out? I lived there for a few years. The people I knew were mainly burly papermill workers and lumberjacks. That sort of thing. I imagine Vermont has infested them badly with moonbats.

Taking names off tombstones and filling out absentee ballots.....again, I see.
