US Soldier throws puppy off a cliff?
Graphic  In fact, I wish I had never watched it, but now that I did, I am of course incensed and I hope you are too.

What exactly is the proper response to something like this?

http://www.dumpert.nl/mediabase/43462/9fb16ab3/us_solda...

The reactions are what is to be expected.

2. Within 5 years that soldier
will have either killed himself, killed his wife, or become President.

4. The casualness of that man is chilling.
He needs to be found and removed from the war. This war has turned a generation of young men and women into killers who are capable of atrocities that shame all of us.

19. For killing without compunction?
He's a soldier. Killing is his job. The military trains them to kill without any moral qualms. Soldiers kill people all the time. I'm surprised you're upset about a dog.

The whole military should be out of Iraq, for more than just killing a dog.

But then.....

20. This is FAKE!! the dog doll doesn't move and the sound doesn't have the proper Doppler effect.

It is a stupid joke and no guess as to why but how easily the DUmmies vent their anti-troop hatred is no joke.

Looks like a stuffed animal to me. Kind of looked like lower budget TV shows when they use a dummy you can tell due to lack of movement. I also think that the whining was coming from one of the guys sounded like someone faking a dog sound.

I just forced myself to watch it again.  That did not sound like someone faking it.

Besides, when you hold an animal like that, by the scruff, of course they won't move.

I can almost swear that the sound is coming from the guy that is throwing it. But then again it is recorded sound and I dont have the best hearing anyway.

I hope it's fake.

The puppy sound appears stationary. ie it doesn't diminish when the puppy is further from the camera.

I kinda wonder about that one DUmmy who said that the sound "didn't have the proper Doppler effect."   When I watched the video, the sound of the yelping did NOT decrease as he went further away.     I don't know if there was some kind of sound editing done, or what, but at this point, I have to say that video is likely real.  :censored:

Yes it sounds like the whining is coming from right in front of the microphone the entire time.

I watched as it was flying and hit the ground and it looked like it was a dummy being thrown.

There is no movement or sound until the puppy is thrown then the sound doesn`t change in volume as the object moves away.
There is no flailing after thrown so it was either a doll or an already deceased animal.
The sound was faked and I suspect the whole thing was although cannot imagine the reason.

They should be disciplined for being stupid at the least and whatever an investigation reveals at the worst but as has been shown here it in no way reflects on our troops as a whole the way the primitives try to make appear.

I don't know anyone who could fake a puppy sound like that, especially a guy.    I hope to God someone higher up in the military sees that video and does an investigation.

I dunno.

I'm all against cruelty to animals, which is why I think primitives should be barred by law from owning pets--the subway cat for example needs to be horse-whipped for what she does to her pet cat--but along with TexRadioGuy, I'd take the primitives in their indignation more seriously, if the primitives were similarly concerned about cruelty to human life too, especially young vulnerable helpless human life.

Our indignation is sincere; the "indignation" of the primitives must remain suspect.

Well I watched it about 2 dozen times and I'm fairly convinced it was already dead.

Granted, this video is still in very poor taste.

It is fact that AQ and other terrorist types have used dead animals as a hiding location for IEDs before. There are a lot of videos of soldiers shooting and burning dead animals to make certain they aren't armed. (that the left posts under headlines of "US soldier kills and burns dog", etc..) Its terrible, but its true. I suspect this puppy drew concern initially for the same reason, then it became a joke.

Sadly all soldiers aren't innocent. there is a video of a couple of soldiers who toss rocks at an injured dog to get it to walk, they videoed it because this particular dog walks on two legs (the left front and the right rear or vice versa) and they found it amusing.

Don't know if the video on this is real but I'm sure someone will be finding out; real or not it's probably an Article 134 offense for bringing discredit on the service.

I hope they all enjoyed the episode of Reno 911 I saw last night, involving cats and firecrackers.

Dogs have owners . . . cats have staff.  I am the chief of staff for an almost four-year-old black-and-white shorthair cat that is both the sweetest and most rambunctious cat I've ever met.  She's good around my daughter, too--Ellen has already reached out and petted Oreo on her own, and Oreo seems to realize that Ellen has another pair of hands to pet her with.

If that's real, they should be skull****ed.  If it's a fake, they should get a reprimand.  But not too harsh, I'm a Tom Green fan (swinging baby from umbilicle cord).

I would give odds that it was not a real dog because its front or hind legs never moved when the soldier was holding the stuffed animal by it's neck.

Yes but it's what they do when they're NOT sleeping. Right now there is a creature of unknown species (mouse, vole, chipmunk, etc.) slinking around in the shadows of my computer room (I believe it's in my closet right now) that I'm currently sitting in. So far, I've seen only a little streak of brown dashing across the rug. One of my cats brought it in to play with and it got away. You'd think with eight of them running around it would be hard for any vermin to get away (well okay, the chipmunk isn't vermin), but no! I spend an inordinate amount of time with a shoe and a flashlight catching little creatures and re-releasing them into the wild. I don't really mind the hunting...I just wish they'd leave the hunted outside. But I guess it's better than finding heads and other assorted "parts" left over after eating their "toy". And I don't even get me started on hairballs.

I only have one and she's an indoor cat of the highest breeding.  We haven't had too many problems with hairballs even though she is a longhair.  Lots of trouble with snarls which seems to bother more than her.
